Hey! Did y'all get yours??? I forgot to post when mine arrived. Deb did a lovely job on 'em!
Re: Reviews
From Entertainment Weekly https://ew.com/movies/film-festivals/mass-jason-isaacs-sundance-preview/ : "We all of us transported ourselves for a couple of weeks into this place of grief and rage and pain and hope and resolution and all the other colors in between," the actor recalls. "Then we came out...

Re: Marie Curie podcast
I'm sorry for your loss, Annie. That experience must have been so difficult, and the loss of a parent is such a primal blow, especially to someone so young. I imagine it was incredibly comforting to have support like that--as you observe, the serious illness of a family member can be painfully isola...

Re: Help Needed.
Thank you for taking the time and giving localized advice, Servalan. To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure I'd bother with Potluck . The movie is nonsensical, JI's part pretty brief (I think, it's been a long time), and I'm fairly confident that the copy I have is a legitimate commercial product, and...

Re: Happy New Year
Thank you, Anniemouse! 2021'd have to work pretty damn hard to be any worse than last year, so I am full of optimism!!

Re: Captain Hook makes a small appearance!
Thanks, guys!
In conjunction with putting this one together, I downloaded a new digital version of Pan (the picture is much better resolution than my old DVD), and have been really struck by how well it holds up. It's just a really good movie.
And yeah, Richard Briers was brilliant in it.

Captain Hook makes a small appearance!
This has been a very long time coming (I blame Trump), but at last, permit me to share an offer of holiday cheer from Very Small Smee: “Muscat, Miss?”

Happy hols, all!

Re: 2020 Calendar Available (from the UK)
Right--Deb, the organizer, has advised that the cost of the calendar is expected to be £11/$15USD, with postage to the U.S. an additional $11 and £5.07 within the UK.
Total cost for U.S. purchasers=$26, UK=£16.07.

2020 Calendar Available (from the UK)
Hey fellow JIphiles--a crew of like-minded peeps in the UK have put together a calendar for 2020 illustrated with pics of our mutual fave. In deference to copyright laws, they're using artwork and not commercial photos. I don't know if they have a webpage or Facebook site or anything; if you're inte...

Re: Meeting Jason
Anniemouse, the last time I met Jason (at a Con in DC), my adult daughter came with us. She had just had a very minor surgery, but feared discomfort with long walking (it was a hike from the subway station) or extended standing, so I investigated a wheelchair rental. As it was, I hit a charity shop ...

Re: What would you recommend
This may be an unpopular opinion, but I watched Hotel Mumbai a couple of months ago, and found it... somewhat distasteful. I got that Jason's character was supposed to be kind of a massive dickhead, but the part where he was gallantly comforting the distressed young actress was revolting. "Don't lis...
