Re: The OA Part 2 discussion: SPOILERS
If you Google, you can find fascinating articles about trees functioning as communities--this one mentions specifically their communication via fungi: http://www.bbc.com/earth/story/20141111-plants-have-a-hidden-internet This means, as DH observed, Jason Isaacs has appeared in TWO series in which he...

Re: The OA Part 2 discussion: SPOILERS
DH and I just finished it a couple of days ago--we watched an ep or two a night. Unlimited "WTF???" moments. I typically don't re-watch things, either series or movies, but I may have to make an exception... Are you guys done with it yet? Because I have so many questions!!! but also I have to say I ...

Re: My thoughts SPOILERS!
So I finally did watch this movie, and it was better than I was anticipating. There were a number of not-very-believable moments (where did they shoot the school scenes?? And I'm Canadian, but I'll be damned if anyone has their senior prom on an ICE RINK. Please.) I was impressed with Eisley's consi...

How reviled do you have to be to be attacked as an 89-year-old??? Damn.

Re: The Dark Crystal (Netflix)
Aw man that's brilliant!!!!
I LOVED "The Dark Crystal"--as did my daughter. I'm thrilled to read that this prequel will employ the same "handwork" as the original!
(and JI too of course!)

2018 Toronto FanExpo 30 Aug-2 Sep
aHahahahahah!!!! I just got an e-mail excitedly advising me that none other than the Shat will be in attendance at this year's Toronto FanExpo! https://www.fanexpocanada.com/en/guests/celebrities/william-shatner.html The e-mail described Shatner as "Canadian Sci-Fi Royalty"... which is as may be, bu...

Tragically, no Jason inclusion, but Himself just tweeted about this: http://variety.com/2018/tv/news/star-trek-discovery-season-2-captain-pike-anson-mount-1202743293/amp/ (Casting announcement of Capt. Pike. Is it just my imagination, or was that really fast?? I thought there weee a few more years b...

OT: Meowseph Stalin the Cat
This hasn't anything to do with the movie, but I thought Marie might find it amusing: the Instagram account of a cat with Uncle Joe's mustache.

Re: DVD release
"Paralysis" is an excellent word to use. In a heartbreaking fashion, the movie really illuminates the depth of Stalin's oppression--people so internalized it that it shriveled all their emotional experiences. But I laughed and laughed. The pacing and editing was brilliant. I'll have to see it again-...

Re: New trailer
Servalan, I checked the BAFTA winners yesterday--was Himself in attendance? (I was a little surprised to see what did win--"Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri." It hasn't been overwhelmingly popular here, and there aren't many Brits in evidence in the film... It's (obviously) set in the U.S.,...
