Thanks for these links. Especially for those of us who don't have/want Blu Ray.

Re: Peter Pan...AAIIEE!
In general the film was very badly received by the American audiences because of the Disney 'contamination; of the original play. In England (and generally Europe) it was much loved as reclaiming a lot of the magic (and horror elements that are part of the European fairytale tradition) that previous...

Re: Capital City.
Watching the series now, in the wake of the banking collapses, is a rather surreal experience!
I wonder whether anyone has considered making a 2008-set sequel?

Re: Fan fiction
I find this view of fanfiction very severe. It's just another way of expressing admiration for characters. We all have fantasies about Jason, right, otherwise we wouldn't be here. Well, fanfic is a roundabout way of living those fantasies about the characters he plays. I'm not discussing anyone's r...

Re: When Harry Left Hogwarts documentary
I hate to burst your bubble, but it looks like the 48 minute documentary is included on the Blu-Ray DVD ONLY of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, due for release 11 November. Hooroo, Carole I suspected as much. But the Potter extras are rarely worth watching more than once. So I shall co...

Re: When Harry Left Hogwarts documentary
It looks like pretty much the standard 'extras' documentary (though better than what was on the last couple of discs). I'm hoping that it'll be available with the standard DVD set as well as the Blu Ray - I'm still holding out against Blu Ray!

Re: Please introduce yourself here!!
Welcome, horse-lover (from a fellow equestrian - Jason needs to be on horseback more often, don't you think?).
I do hope that your history class discussed the historical errors in that film! (Once you'd recovered from watching Jason that is). And he was a bit younger then *g*

Re: Case Histories Coming To PBS this October
That's an excellent review - at least it gives the reader a warning about the 'co-incidental' nature of the plot (which does seem to have got a lot of negative response from non-book readers). And nice to see a reviewer who understands that Jason narrated the audio-books (so many get that confused)....

Re: DWS Dagger Awards
I noticed that the awards were being televised, but hadn't realised that 'Case Histories' was in the running because the Radio Times article only mentioned 'The Killing' and 'Luther' as in the running. Which suggests that the BBC doesn't think CH will win anything. And bodes even less well for anoth...
Re: Reviews
I've just been listening to Mark Kermode's review (towards the end of the podcast - http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/kermode). Very amused by the way he was caught between his admiration for Jason, his liking of the Twilight films, and his critical faculties. (But at least his kids enjoyed it - ...
Re: Reviews
Here's the best review I've seen so far (and it's not that good). Not sure if it's already been posted. http://popwatch.ew.com/2011/09/26/abduction-hilariously-bad-movie-makes-for-fun-moviegoing-experience-its-the-new-swimfan/ But the best part was listening to the young girls up the back of the ci...

Re: The Deathly Hallows Part2 is the number 1 film of 2011
Well, Amazon notified me that HP7.2 is available to preorder. And wouldn't you know, they priced it at $24.99 just so you'd have to order something else to get free shipping. The B*st*rds!!!! nuke.gif It's worth looking elsewhere. I managed to find a seller (HMV in the UK) who was packaging the DVD...
