Re: Reviews
It's a pity. The trailer showed some promise, but you can't do anything without a good script. And, as one review says, putting an embargo on reviews always puts the critics in a bad mood and never results in favourable reviews. (I'll be interested in what Mark Kermode has to say - given that he's b...

Re: Jason Isaacs Interview
Thanks, Thunder.
Well, we did have two months of almost daily news, so I think we can manage with a little 'quiet' - especially as I suspect that Jason is having a far from 'lazy' time!

Re: Please introduce yourself here!!
And another belated welcome from me, Lady Sekhmet.
Looking forward to your input on matters historical (hysterical?) in future.

Save BBC 4 Petition
The Curse of Steptoe was just one of the original single dramas commissioned for the BBC's 'arts' channel, BBC4. It pulled in one of the channels biggest audiences. And now the BBC is talking about 'slimming down' the channel to remove its role in showing (expensive) drama. I've just signed the peti...

Re: An odd anniversary
When Jason was here in Belgium, there was a man in the crowd who's face and hands was completely red and what seemed to be little bits of skin coming off. Others who saw this said he was a nutter that painted himself red but I actually think he had a skin issue of some kind as well. I have the utmo...

Re: Featurette
Thanks Char.
This does look like the sort of mindless blockbuster action/adventure film that I'm quite happy to watch (especially if it's a hot summer and the cinema has air-conditioning ;) so I might get to see it - regardless of the presence of Mr I (not that he isn't a bonus). Am I a bad fangirl?

Re: London Riots
The 'rioters' are mainly looting and torching shops - so the main dangers are to those who live in town centres alongside (and over) shopping centres (they really are targeting their own communities). This shouldn't affect residential areas. I believe that the Isaacs family have moved, but hope thei...

Re: My own opinion of GOOD
It was unfortunate that the film was released at the same time as a lot of movies set in the same period (though nowhere near as sensitive and thought-provoking), and got rather lost and criticised as a result (most critics seemed to worry more about the lack of German accents/subtitles than the act...

Re: JI to star in new action thriller, "The Operative" ?????
It looks different from his usual roles - hope it gets made.
Is this the first time we've seen a "Jason to STAR" headline or a film, rather than the usual 'Signed up for/ to appear in' report?
I think he may have arrived... *g*

Re: Blog, has Tavvie
You won't get any arguments here about that, Lillith! Most of us stop the movie at the point where Tavvie has Mel at his mercy.
And, of course, the original character on whom Tavington is based, Banastre Tarleton, returned to a full and rich life in England.

Re: The Pilot-Reviews (Spoilers)
I've always thought that the premise for ' Awake ' owed a lot to Life on Mars - but this is the first time I've seen the comparison made by a professional reviewer (who clearly knows what he's talking about). If others see that parallel, rather than the inception one that NBC is pushing to US audien...

Re: Jason at COMIC CON
I'm not sure why, but I suddenly feel hugely better about hanging around this place. Maybe it's because ... y'all are the same age as me. (Not sure why I've assumed I was an odd-one-out old lady hanging around here with the excuse of seeing stray pictures of The Man for purely scientific purposes, ...

Re: Tom Felton Interview: Malfoy Different Endings*Spoilers*
I'd forgotten that Jade actually had a role in the movie - and so, apparently, did everyone who commented on Toms 'arm candy' at the London Premier (where they also made a lovely couple).

Re: Leland Turbo?
One of the film makers (producer? director?) said at the London 'Not-The-Premier' do that Jason had been so good and enthusiastic about doing Siddley that they'd given him another character too.
(Didn't say whether they'd paid him two fees though *grin*)

Re: YEEEEEEHAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Those are impressive figures, but, because they're based on cash takings rather that actual 'bums on seats' it doesn't really mean much - as cinema prices go up (especially for 3D and Imax screenings) each big film that comes out is going to do better than the one before. The important thing is the p...
