"BAFTAs 2008!!!"

Post by catloveyes » Thu Feb 07, 2008 8:45 pm

I was thinking that a thread should be started for the "Bafta's 2008" as more will be forth coming in the way of articles and pics!!

And for those who might miss the 8:00 EST, 7:00 Central performance it will be broadcast twice more on both Cable and DirecTV!!

Hugs,
Kate

BBC America, on my Comcast Cable, is showing the BAFTAS, 3 times in a row, beginning at 8 pm EST...so if you miss it the first go round,
you can view it later in the night...

I remember watching last year, when Mr Jason was not a presenter,
nor a receiver of an award...

this year, is he giving a citation?? OK, what the heck is that??

Here in the US, when you get a citation, it's not a good thing..LOL

LOL, Kim! I assumed that it was Britspeak for presenting, but I don't know!

Not always KJ. In the military when you receive a medal or some kind of honor they always read you the citation to accompany the award for Meritorius Service or whatever. In that case the citation is the description of the reason you got the honor. It is usually given to you on parchment in a nice frame or folder with the medal.

So see - it can be a good thing too!

Marie, U R right, I stand corrected...LOL

Just goes to show, I've received NO Military Citations,
more of the Civvie kind...LOL

Maybe it means Mr Jason will be presenting/explaining an award...

How embarrassing, Marie--I actually received both an Army Commendation Medal and an Army Good Conduct Medal, and that context didn't even occur to me. Maybe I'd just far rather contemplate Jason Isaacs than my military tenure. :-|

Wow, what an interesting assignment!
I'm sure that one of those BBC options would serve, Siren--it's more or less the equivalent of the Oscars, ain't it? so a pretty big deal!

Maybe I'd just far rather contemplate Jason Isaacs than my military tenure.
I have no trouble contemplating both but I rather enjoyed my Military service. Of course I did not get deployed - I stayed state side my entire 8 years. I'm in awe of the Men and Women serving today - we ask way too much of them.

I'll most likely be playing poker tonight - I have not played for a few days but I do hope someone copies Jason's presentation on DVD. (Then I will beg and plead!)
