OUR FIRST AUCTION NOW LIVE!!

Post by Hilary the Touched » Sat Nov 12, 2005 10:09 am

Despite the misgivings/objections of some of the trusted JIOL.com cabal, I have elected to turn this sucker over to MissionFish, so the winning bidder will be absolutely confident that their money (100%, minus the $3 + ca. 3% credit card handling fee, which I cannot help or prevent) will go to the accredited non-profit recipient, in this case, St. Jude Children's Hospital.

CHECK IT OUT!!!

It looks great, Hil. Thanks for carrying on for a great cause.

Hope we get some good bids!

I'm sure the returns will vastly outweight any fees, Hil. Besides, it's for such a worthy cause! And I love his little inscription. It's so typically ... Jason!!

Job well done!

Nice inscription - it shows Jason puts some thought into it!!! I put in a little bid but I'm fairly certain I will be out bid in no time!

Cheers,
Marie

Congrats, Hil! That was not bad at all for a photo!

There was one earlier, same photo with all 4 autographs on it. It only went for $11.99.

Thanks for the kind words, Char!
Yeah, I might have done better to wait a week (Pottermania might have increased...), and it was neither a great photo of Jason Isaacs nor one of his most popular movies.
Well, we'll see how we do with Donated Item #2!

I'd say that was a very respectable start. I'm sure the others will do just as well, if not better.

Congrats to the winning bidder.

RIGHT! $56.99 has just been donated to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
MissionFish deducts the above-mentioned $3+ %, BUT that's off-set by the fact that eBay will donate to St. Jude the listing and final value fees, because we were donating 100% of the proceeds.
Yay!
Hey, Char, you had a post on the Fanzone which mentioned a lady with another group who "knew that St. Jude was Jason Isaacs' favourite charity".
Care to share a little more about that?? And would she care to publicize the magazine auction??

Hil, it was Sue Upton, a senior editor at The Leaky Cauldron.

I'm not sure if TLC is the right target population for ebay?? But once it's up I will send her the link. :D

Hil--I've decided to paint and/or draw Jason, and when I do, I'd like to auction it off to go toward the donation we send on Jason's behalf. I won't be able to get to it this year, but perhaps sometime next year. Thanks for your hard work.

A one of a kind! That'll make a nice addition to our fundraising campaign.

Thanks, Sarah!

What a nice thing to do, Sarah!

You know, I'm just constantly astonished at the talent--and generous spirits-- of those who hang around this board!!!!!!

:D :o

I'd be honoured and delighted to present one of your wonderfully executed, professional quality works, Sarah.

I'm a little intrigued, though--you had previously said that you couldn't see yourself drawing Jason Isaacs. Would you like to share what made you change your mind? (I think you ought to hold out for a live sitting...)
