I'm participating in Relay for Life this year

Post by Hilary the Touched » Thu Feb 26, 2009 2:05 pm

to raise funds for cancer research. Unlike Marie, who in her fund-raising activities actually moves her svelte tuchus at some speed, my group will be moseying around in circles
all night long. All night.
So if you'd like to throw a little encouragement my way, go visit http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/Relay ... r_id=12677. Sadly, none of the perky blondes depicted is me, but one does what one can.
If you want to donate online, it has to be done via credit card, but you can mail a check (or cash!) and any amount--ANY--is vastly welcomed.
Thanks Girls!

Thanks so much-- :hug
I know none of us has as much money as we used to--I really appreciate it.
Yeah, the deal with the Relay is that it's time, not distance--we're going all night, or rather, at least one teammember is at all times.

Done!

I gotta hand it to you, I'd get so dizzy... then again, it really doesn't take much...

And don't worry Miss Touched, your perky enough for me, baby!

Sounds like fun..
Running in circles all night? Well, I don't know but it IS for a good cause, so she definitely gets major brownie points and our undying gratitude.

Good luck, Hils!

Have a good time, Hilary.
I've always wanted to participate in a walk-a-thon, but I never seem to get Saturday off. Maybe in the future. I just hope I'm up for it.

Remember to take plenty of water with you, and a "buddy" to do it with.
And, don't forget to ice yourself down afterward. An AGM at the hotel participated in a mini-marathon a while back, and when he came in to work the next day, he was walking really slow, and with a limp. Poor Andy. :hug!

:woot

Yeah, like I say, I'm not going to be walking all night (or even day, for that matter). I'm participating as part of a team that will (it's my collitch team :-| ). It's soon enough that it shouldn't be too hot yet, and again, I can take a couple of the hours at night. 'Cause the mommy does not tolerate heat. Thanks for the reminder about water, Marilaine!

As a cancer survivor this sounds like a good cause. Check is in the mail.

Good luck and have fun walking.
