UUUUUuurrrrrrr....It didn't answer how Jacob could leave the island, but not the MIB. How would he know that he could leave the island to persue new recruits? It didn't really say why the MIB couldn't leave the island just that his attempt was foiled or did I miss something?
Just two more episodes and I heard it's going to be a two hour ending.

Two and a half hours: 9:00 to 11:30. Don't go to sleep or mis-set your recorders.
Why was Jacob invisible to everyone but Locke and Hurley.
Haven't a clue. Maybe he can make himself visible to those he wishes to see him.
It didn't answer how Jacob could leave the island,
Since the sub was destroyed, Jacob's method for leaving the island may be revealed then, allowing those who survive (if any) to leave.

My feeble memory seems to remember it was his grandmother.(?) She told Michael to let Walt get on with his life.
By the way, the Paley Center in Beverly Hills is having a Lost weekend (sorry, Mr. Milland) on 22 May. There'll be screenings of the first season panel discussion with the entire cast, minus Kate, Claire pre-Loon, and Desmond, filmed in 2005; a screening of the 2010 panel discussion with the actors who play Ben, Ricardus, and Ilana, as well as "Lindcuse" and writers; and finally the premiere screening of Lost: The Enhanced Pilot. It will be "a fun-filled celebration featuring a slew of events, prize giveaways, and more."
I got tickets for it. I'll be dragging DH, my carpool buddy, along.
For those in the area, you can get tickets below. Read the full description here:

if you get to meet some of the actors
It's pretty much just LindCuse.
Miles: "I lived in those houses 30 years before you did, which was really just last week."
Alex: "You're the nicest man ever!"
So, since Richard is immortal, I assume he's lying somewhere on the other side of the island where Smokey threw him. And Jack is the new white (read: Jacob). And his science vs. faith philosophy partner on the island, Locke, is the new black. Ironic, huh?
Why would Jack volunteer to stay on that island? Spending "as long as [he] can" battling MIB if they aren't successful killing him. And, oh yes, having tea and crumpets with Richard, discussing the weather. Even Hurley, who acted like he would be the one was certainly relieved not to be. So much for Jate getting together . . . unless Kate chooses to stay with him. Then, it'll be a threesome for tea.
Would've been nice to keep Widmore around longer. Just 'cause he's interesting. Zoe, not so much. Didn't take long for the newly admonished Ben to go back to being his loathsome self. (Truly enjoyed the beating he got from Desmond in LA.)
Okay. Everybody. Set your recorders for 8:00 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. No screwups!!!![/i]
