The carrots.
This is so reminiscent of my husband's English recipe for lasagna. What the hell is that ingredient, and what's it doing there?? Like all the tuna-salad sandwiches in the UK--"sweet corn" is mandatory. Fucking corn in your tuna sandwich.

I don't see a problem with carrots in the pasta sause or sweet corn in the tuna sandwich. It fits right in, if you ask me...

I think carrots are supposed to add natural sweetness. Tuna and sweetcorn is a staple of the UK sandwich.
