The independent ones are the ones that were made without the help of big studios (the big Hollywood ones like Paramount etc.)
Divorcing Jack was an independent; Tennis, Anyone? and the unfortunate Last Minute as well.

Sween Norverber, Patriot, Armageddon--those are all 'biggies'.

Sweet November was on last night. I watched a few minutes just to see Jason. Because he's the only damn reason to watch that piece of manipulative, maudlin nonsense.

I think Hotel is probably the only film that even Jason Isaacs couldn't save.
No wonder he bailed. It is what is commonly referred to in the biz as a "steamer".

Bruce 'Willies' - Snape, we may just have to add this to our lexicon.
Unintentional or not, it was funny.

And Hil, yes I know what independent Films are, but there re some that I didn't know if they were independent or not, because we don't get all american movies.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Emmy Rossum in this. She's too darn cute.

As for Jason, I don't think I can add any new compliments that have already been said, but i have to agree that the dinner scene was incredibly erotic. Simply marvelous. He was just so delightful, and I know others didn't, but I kinda liked his hair. Too bad it was a wig and not his own.. arg. He is quiet good looking on his own, Love his hair. Anyway, he was a sweetheart and at one point I said out loud "He's so cute!" And my sister looked at me like I was crazy for talking to the tv. She happened to be in the room at that moment.

I'm also glad they changed the original ending. It did not fit the tone of the movie at all. I can't wait to re-watch it with the commentary.

So I watched Passionada then started Brotherhood. I got whiplash from the amazing difference between Charlie Beck and Michale Caffee, lol.

I watch the commentary more then the movie. It's really good.
The wig seemed to fit the role more the his own hair.

Passionada is the first movie I "discovered" JI, and it's been fabulous
ever since....

I visited the town of New Bedford, MA, and it is truly wonderful...
I'm sure Marie would agree...LOL
Can't wait to go back...

Mr Jason spoke of visiting there a few years ago (presumably while is
Providence for BH)....he has fond memories of it, as well...

He told me his stories when he was signing my hat in London...
(Remember the blue hat Charlie B wears while he is out on the yacht??
I went to the Black Whale, and it was a dream of mine for Mr Jason
to sign the hat...HE DID)....LOL

Uh, I'm sssssssssssssoooooooooo jealous. :hit ~marilaine :hug

I love this movie. The commentaries are really good.
I love that scene where he's called in to that casino manager's office and he can't resist touching the squirrel's nose. :sigh Too cute.

Emmy Rossum really cracked me up in this movie. She was so great in the scenes with him. ~marilaine :hands

Im not a romace film fan so this to me was a little bit of a labour to it through, loved JI in it, but in all honesty I wont rush to watch it again. I would watch Sweet November over this tbh.

JIs wig was awful but his acting was good.

With regards to Jason getting larger roles, you know, I think he has it about right at present, he gets consistent work (with small breaks) but still is able to walk down the street without being mobbed. The only thing or him that is a shame is that he deserves to won more awards.

 Soule. I couldn't agree with you more.
He actually called it a "cat" in the commentary, if you listen to his description of it.....it was very difficult to drive and keep the cat from blowing off in the wind.
I love the scene with the squirrel...at the casino. OMG! What an improv....
that and the line he says to Celia:"Well, I'm off to shave my head and join a monastery."

The shirts were appropriate but I have nightmares about the wig.
