Capital City.

Post by Anniemouse » Sat Jan 02, 2021 6:05 pm

I have got a DVD of the show but I am in two minds about it. I am not that excited about the subject matter and spending time with characters that I might not like.

What are you memories of the show. Jason must have been very young at the time.

I've only ever seen episode 1 (that's all that's available in region 1). I thought he did a nice job as an up and coming employee. He was young, but he held his own. Where the character/show went from there will have to come from region 2 watchers. Ladies?

I haven't seen this in a long time. It's not just about stoke brokering, but it's about the people working in the bank and their lives. A lot of it is about working at the bank, but there's more focus on relations between people than banking. As I remember it, most of the regular characters were quite sympathetic.

I have seen the first 4 episodes and I am really looking forward to seeing the rest. I love Jason's character; such a different take on a stockbroker. I cannot believe he is so young in this show, I am left puzzled as what i would have been watching when this was broadcast as it passed me by completly.

Another really great performance.

I think this was his first quite big role, at least that is still available. :D

Wow I really do not like the character of Jimmy. Baffled that Chas is his friend.

I think Jimmy is an a-hole too, and it's hard to understadn how he and Chas are friends. How long are you in this? I don't want to spoil you...

Just finished the episode where Chas flips and leaves the company with Declan going to find him in the transport cafe.

Was this the episode that Jason meant where he has the one main storyline of the entire series?.

Loved Jason singing 'Baby I Don't Care' by 'Transvision Vamp' in the car. I like Jason's singing voice. :cherub

I think this episode is the one where the story is mostly about Chas, but I've seen somewhere that all the episodes aren't on the DVDs. I'm not sure that's true, or where I read it. :scratch

I think I read that there are 29 episodes but I think I must check the DVD again as I think that there was only 26 on my discs.

Will come back to you about that.

Loved the spisode where Chas helps his brother out. Jason seems to be getting more scenes as the series progresses.

I cannot stand Jimmy.

My DVD had 23 episodes.

Well I think I have just seen the first season finale. Wow Jimmy got his comeuppance. You can feel the storm clouds at boardroom level. I am enjoying the show a lot and to think it was Jason's first big TV role.

That was what I didn't want to spoil for you. I think it was telling that no one was upset about it.
