I always wondered how people that don't smoke manage to smoke in a movie and then in an interview for Mad Men they said they use herbal cigarettes. I've never heard of them but.......
Since Jason doesn't smoke maybe that's what he used.

Jason smoked for years, then he quit...he has stated it is rather difficult
now for him to have a role where he smokes...cause afterward,
he has to quit all over again....and yes, you can see an ashtray
on the table, so it's NOT a pencil LOL

Jason just makes smoking look sexy..

He always refers to Maurice as a 'womanizer' and I think I see that in this scene when he was drooling over Ann in front of John.

I can't imagine how hard that is.

It's been 10 years since I quit, after 20 years of smoking two packs a day, 20 years since my husband quit, and we both still have "smoking dreams" ... meaning dreams in which we're smoking in the dream. I know sometimes when I wake up from those dreams I'll actually feel it in my chest, as if I've been smoking, and even have difficulty breathing deeply.

It's entirely analogous to the alcoholic's situation ... just one drink and fuggedaboudit, you're off. Just one cigarette ...
