Thanks for sharing the reviews. The Norwegian reviews I've seen so far gives it 3 out of 6 or 4 out of 6. The general statement among Norwegian reviewers is that it is a good action film, but not so good as a political comment.

But I'm seeing it tonight anyway, and I can't wait. :D

The St. Pete Times gave it a C+. The reviewer didn't like it and he never mentioned Jason.

Florida Today didn't really like it either. Their beef was the typical "it could have been so much better". At least it was not a downright bad review.

I'm going to see it tonight at the 7:30PM show.

I am going on Tuesday on my own I should add, none of my friends share my Jason fascination and when I mentioned what it was about I could hear the loud yawning so honestly I would rather go alone.

Can't see it until I'm completely over the bronchitis. Hoping I can go Sunday.

Interesting point re misleading tone of the trailers: http://themet.metrostudentmedia.com/fea ... elligence/
"Real suspense only occurs late in the film when Miller races against a bad-ass Army Special Forces soldier Briggs (“Black Hawk Down’s” Jason Isaacs) to find The Jack of Clubs who will either expose the truth (to Washington’s dismay) or be as bad of a villain as Hussein was."

Spilling out of the Blackhawks is Jason Isaacs, chewing scenery and spitting bullets, and proving, as always, that a film with him in is always better than one without.

Another one couldn't be more impressed with Jason

Hmmm....

Fumbling Politics and Re-Writing Recent History in 'The Green Zone' by Dr. Cole Abaius:

http://www.filmschoolrejects.com/opinio ... n-zone.php
The film uses history much in the same way other historical fiction films do – distorting it, personalizing it, and using Jason Isaacs as a villain.

But Jason's character is not a villain. He is a Special Forces guy who has orders and he carries them out. In fact as far as the military would be concerned Miller is the rouge soldier.

I don't know why people always see his characters as villains or bad guys... it kinda bothers me.

"Isaacs’ portrayal of Briggs as a delightfully arrogant lieutenant colonel is amazing and one wishes that he had more screen time in the film"

here's a review from the Movie Diva, I always like her reviews as she understands how lovely our favorite gent is. She really dislikes the film, but loves Jason:
