controversy for BBC

A BBC4 biodrama about the lives of the actors portraying beloved stars of seminal sitcom "Steptoe and Son". Jason Isaacs earned a BAFTA nomination for his portrayal of Harry H. Corbett! First aired 19 March, 2008.

Not sure, grannybear. Most Americans wouldn't even know who they are so there's not be much incentive to air it.

Apologies for BUMPing an old thread but I've only just watched this.

Steptoe and Son was huge in Australia as well and Jason's performance was uncanny. It's sad that it was sullied by factual inconsistencies rather that the fact that it showcased a truly amazing actor.

And how can I find him so alluring even when he, once again, depicts a rather horrid husband and sexual assault scene. Not to mention the disturbingly delicious paunch/mutton-chops combo.
Hmmm, I seem to have become as biased as the rest of you. :mrgreen:

The Beeb isn't terribly big on that, I'm afraid.

The beeb are getting better about releasing DVDs, but I think this show was a BBC 3 show which means it wasn't aired on main stream channel so chances are slim for it to be released. :-(
