'An ex-cop turned lawyer' sounds like a perfect role. A guy with both brain and muscle......With Jason's law school background, he will be excellent in this.

A little more info from the Futon Critic:
PLEADING GUILTY (FOX) - Jason Isaacs ("Brotherhood") has been tapped for the lead role on the drama pilot, about Mack Malloy, "an ex-cop and recovering alcoholic now serving as a partner in a top-drawer corporate law firm." His casting as Malloy ("early 40s, a big handsome Irish lunk") lifts said contingency off the pilot's production. Jason Tracey is behind the 20th Century Fox Television-produced hour, which is based on Scott Turow's book of the same name. Hart Hanson also serves as an executive producer, as do Katherine Pope, Peter Chernin and Jon Avnet, who's attached to direct.
From NY Magazine:
Guilty As Charged: Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter’s Lucius Malfoy) has signed on for the Fox drama pilot Pleading Guilty, after the British actor received eight different pilot offers this season. Guilty is a legal thriller about a cop-turned-attorney (Isaacs), who is described as “a big handsome Irish lunk,” charged with investigating the disappearance of the firm’s top litigator. Yeah, yeah, chases and investigations... we’re more interested in what this “lunk” thing is all about.
Must be written by a SMART woman..haha

A 'lunk' is 'A fool; an idiot; a lunkhead' according to google dictionary

I like my own translation better- Lunk=A brainy Hunk..:D

Jason, you are getting really famous and becoming a household name, please don't forget us.. ;-)

Good for him! :D

It says it's based on a book. Are they planning to make it into a miniseries, or a "several seasons" series?

(I guess it depends on how loosely it's based on the book).

Thank you dear Char...:hug

Just a bit of info on the book...

Kindle County is a fictional county located in the Midwestern United States. It is based strongly on Chicago and Cook County, Illinois. Kindle County was created by Scott Turow and is the setting for all of his novels. Additionally, films based on his works are also set in Kindle County. Though most of the novels do not identify a particular state with Kindle County, a serialized version of Limitations, which was printed in the New York Times Magazine identified Kindle County as being in Illinois. The film Presumed Innocent was filmed in Detroit, so many recognizable Detroit landmarks appear in Kindle County in that film.

Pleading Guilty, published in 1993, is Scott Turow's third novel, and like the previous two it is set in fictional Kindle County.

The novel begins with a middle-aged lawyer, basically waiting to retire, being assigned by his firm to track down another attorney who has embezzled millions from the firm and disappeared.

Many of the minor characters in Pleading Guilty also appear in Turow's other novels, which are all set in fictional, Midwestern Kindle County.

Malfoy to Malloy. Not a big stretch.

Hoping it gets picked up, so we can have Jason on TV every week . . . even if it is Fox.

I wonder what the other offers were and if anyone else will take them on? Image
