Based on the popular and critically acclaimed novels by Kate Atkinson, this mini-series was shot on location in Edinburgh and was quickly followed by a second season.

DVD release (?!)

Post by thunder » Sun May 08, 2011 5:17 am

Amazon says DVD will be released on July 11 (but they have changed dates before). Maybe I don't have to wait so long after all?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Case-Histories- ... 49&sr=1-15

It's region 2.

I was on Amazon for something completely different. I practically never search for Jason Isaacs anymore, because I have pretty much bought everything. Maybe it was female intuition that made me search...? Glad I did! :D

Like the pic :woot

Only if you have a DVD player that is programmed for region 2. Most aren't.

Or, you could play it on your computer if you download (for free) VLC.

I am lending a friend series 8 of Spooks. My copy is region 2. She has a "ps3" (play-station 3 ?????) which she thinks will play it.

I will let this thread know if it does work.

Please do let me know if it works for her as I do have a PS3. If all else fails, I'll download the aforementioned program for PC playing, but I'd rather watch it on the {much bigger} TV screen.

It doesn't look like a DVD cover, so they will probably update that later (at least that's what I'm thinking).

Same pic here, but we see more surroundings:

click on it and it gets bigger...

The title says "series 1", so that means there's a chance for more, right? :woot

(we kinda knew that, but anyway...)

Googled it. I think it's the company name:

'TBC' in the book publishing industry is usually taken to mean 'To Be Confirmed' (depending on whether the publishing company can get the releases on artwork cleared before publication).

I did have hopes for a further series of Case Histories - before the BBC controller started complaining that there are "too many male detectives on TV".

Personally I'd be more concerned about there being too many women victims - but I don't run BBC drama.

Oh ....... I agree with you. Too many female victims. Mostly male writers bringing out their hostilities against women? I used to like Criminal Minds until it dawned on me that it seemed to be a contest as to who could think up the most horrifying death for the female victims. Very seldom men. Think about it.

I think the reason most victims in crime fiction/shows are women is because the reasons for a crime against a woman can be ascribed more often to passion/desire/jealousy etc ... and these emotions lead to more interesting plots which can be enjoyed by both sexes.

I don't think you can infer that male writers make their victims female as they have latent aggression towards women.

I don't know - do female writers have mainly male victims?

If the victim is male in fiction, the perpetrator of the crime is often female - is that better? :?: Which would you prefer - a female victim or a female psychopath?
