Review

Based on the popular and critically acclaimed novels by Kate Atkinson, this mini-series was shot on location in Edinburgh and was quickly followed by a second season.

(Jackson Brodie)....willing to sweat at digging an animal grave; unwillingly caught in Natasha's kitchen stripping off to wash himself down: you could feel half the knee-tendons of Britain a-tremble (I mean the female half; not that everyone had just one knee trembling. That would just be weird).

Ha ha ha ha ha!! Love this review. So funny and well-written.

So, it's official, hey? Official National Object of Lust. (More like Official International Object of Lust) I have to say, every single woman who has been near him in interviews on TV and radio seems to come over a little strange, and their male counterpart (as there usually is) has said something like - She's been behaving strangely all day.

You bet!

The thing about the screen/tongue thing is funny. I said to my husband when he asked if he could watch it with me (he felt the need to) - 'Yes, but you'll have to excuse me if I go and lick the screen occasionally.' :adore

Love the Guardian review - tears of laughter (though as it's a male reviewer its worryingly in touch with the female mindset...)

There are those of us that couldn't get on our hands and knees, not because we don't want to but because we'd never be able to get back up.

We could always pull a chair over and sit there. Longer staying power.

dont know if this is the correct thread, but my opinion is Jackson doesn't run to stay in shape, he runs as a stress relief...
clear his mind, and help concentrate on things...that's why he gets home and smokes a cig...tells his wife on the phone
relapse after 15 yrs, why you care? LOL

guess it's better than punching the walls

as for the crawling and licking of the tv screen, NO COMMENT LOL
if only you could read my thoughts :woot

Mildly off topic, but Colin Firth has had a pretty good week.

He was an author on a science journal article http://blogs.smithsonianmag.com/science ... scientist/. Current Biology is very highly ranked.

And on the Queen's official birthday honour's list he was made CBE - Commander of the Order of the British Empire. That is above MBE and OBE and sort of on the way to a knighthood. I guess the queen really did like his portrayal of her father - King George VI in The King's Speech.

I don't think we've had this review from the London Metro paper (not a very well informed reviewer!)

What's this bit about the hair color? It looked it's usual color to me.

I was just going over the Digital Spy thread on CH. This post and reply from June 10 caught my eye.

Yes, I imagined it meant something like ripping one's blouse open.

I’ve noticed a lot of previews, reviews and criticism of the new detective drama has focused on the eye-candy of Mr Jason Isaacs (above). So let’s get it out the way.

PHWOAR.

I’ve been a fan of Kate Atkinson for a logn while now, so treated news of this dramatisation with some trepidation. Could anyone portray Jackson Brodie perfecty? Would the stories be as complex and nuanced as in the books? In short, would it be done right?

So far the answer is both yes and no. Isaacs has managed to be both exactly as I imagined Jackson and nothing like him at the same time – but in a good way.

I think the reviewer was thinking of the blond Lucius wig (which one of the comments pointed out). Are there really journalists who don't know he's not a natural blond?

Jason has commented on more than one occasion, even his friends think the blonde wig is his own hair... :scratch

makes him laugh (and wonder at the same time) ::rofl
