In which Jason Isaacs plays a very ungodly man of God.

This is a new one, I think. Quite positive about the movie, except didn't think The Prophet worked as a villain, but also says it's not JI's fault.

I'm just getting these from the other thread so we can have everything in one place (I assume we will get more reviews):

A new review, gives it 8/10:

But thought the prophet could have been done differently.

Hi,

This isn't really a review, but it's an article about the Miller brothers and the movie- so I dithered about where to put it and I ended up here. The author does mention what I've been rather suprised at (and I think that someone else in another article may have said the same thing) - the lack of commentary about Jason's role re: his "wives" and religion, especially since it's being screened *in* Utah (or maybe it's just that no one wants to acknowledge/comment on the elephant in the room at the festival). The author seems supportive of them and the movie.

An 8 out of 10 is a very nice rating! And he does have a way with words. Though, I was not at all surprised that I didn't find the word apeshit in my Merriam-Webster's Dictionary. We won't be hearing his reviews on TV any time soon. Pity.

I had a Commodore 64. That's not what I used it for.

Still, it gets his point across.

I guess.

Yeah, the sudden mental image of a Commodore 64 was quite ....erm...vivid. lol. But it's nice to see that there are people out there who enjoyed it.

The Commodore 64? Some more than others, clearly ...

(Ignore me.)

Yes, I'm glad he enjoyed the movie. Is it enough for it to make it to my side of the Pond? *hmm ...?* Fingers, toes etc crossed.

Okay, it's been a long day, and my brain feels a little...squishy, but I'm very, very, very, very, very, very confused by the Rotten Tomatoes "movie info" for Sweetwater. I went here: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/sweetwater_2012/ and then saw... something that confused me badly. Did someone at Rotten Tomatoes have a massive senior moment when they put the description in:
MOVIE INFO: The story of two childhood friends who have grown apart and are suddenly thrust back into each other's lives when a parent develops cancer. They join forces to find the cure but soon realize their lives are danger if they expose the truth.
Ermmm... wth, Rotten Tomatoes???? But the cast and even the review snippets are for the correct movie. I'm so confused. Did anyone else notice this? Or is my mac possessed?

Anywhoo... Wow. The other one was not so nice, but he does seem (oddly) positive about it hitting the theaters...we can only hope.

PS. LL - if it does't make it to your side and we only have a DVD via Netflix, I will skype you in and you can virtually sit on my couch and watch the movie with me...how does that sound? ;^)

There was another Sweetwater movie in 2012. RT was confused and put the reviews for this new one under that one.

Meh. How seriously can you take someone who can't spell 'swathe' or punctuate 'its'?

Another review: http://exclaim.ca/Reviews/Sundance/swee ... an_mmiller

Not too impressed about the movie, but it's not all negative.
