Re: Jason Isaacs reading James Bond novel (Audio book)
So...since it seems all of my best (or worst- nothing in-between, it seems) thinking happens in the 3 nanoseconds I have after drinking my AM coffee and scooting out the door, I had a thought. Have any LGs contacted audioGo UK to ask them if they will be releasing these CDs and downloads in the US at any point? This might save us some angst and large $ bills after the pound/$ conversions are over and done with.
(If someone has already addressed it, I apologize in advance, and please see above statement about best/worst thinking moments. lol.)

Well, I FB'd Audio Go UK, and their prompt response is that it will probably never happen (that they will distribute directly to the US) b/c they have no licensing to do so. So much for pie in the sky hopes for us in the US, as we scramble to find people in Europe to do our dirty work. Seems like there should be more international cooperation with these sorts of things, but I don't make the rules. Let the games begin! LN

Great minds and all that, ln. I also FB'd them, and I got the same response. I wonder if they are getting suspicious about the high uptick in their US female audience base concerning James Bond books...

This is not a petition type of issue-this is everything to do with international copyright laws and licensing agreements. Soo...perhaps a trip to England to go audio book shopping is in order. *wiggles eyebrows*

I'd attempt to Apparate there, and meet you all, but just my luck, I'd probably

Can't wait!Jason Isaacs Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films) is an ideal reader for this audiobook version of Thunderball.
He delivers a light touch to the beginning of the novel. And his timing is excellent and effective during the underwater fight scenes – ‘his hand moving with terrifying slowness through the water’...
Isaacs’ voice is slightly gruffer too, as he portrays our flawed hero, James Bond. (Bond even gets stroppy at one point!).
With the novel’s many colourful characters, Isaacs wonderfully increases the atmosphere of Thunderball – especially as the plot of terrorists stealing nuclear weapons is still a relevant threat today.
There’s good living, action, humour, a world held to ransom, a race against time, an exotic location and a gutsy Bond girl with Domino.
Jason Isaacs ratchets up the tension as the novel reaches its climax and makes this Thunderball audiobook a thoroughly enjoyable and exciting listen

Perhaps I missed this bit of info (probably!)...but *who* exactly is going to be interviewed? It says that there is a "bonus interview." Ian Fleming is dead. James Bond, to be the best of my knowledge, is a fictional character-but after escorting Her Majesty to the Olympics- I could be very wrong. *mind drifts to memory of James Bond in tux* Cubby Broccoli died almost 20 years ago. Are they interviewing the actors who have played Bond? The current writer(s) of the post-Ian Fleming Bond books? Or are they interviewing the narrators themselves about their love/fascination/obsession/insert-your-adjective-here for James Bond? I mean--that might be kind of cool to learn why these folks signed up to read the Bond books (aside from the obvious $).
