Rosemary's Baby (TV mini series)

Isaacs will play warlock/coven-leader Roman Castevet, a role played by Sidney Blackmer in Roman Polanski’s 1968 feature adaptation, in which Guy was played by John Cassavetes.
deadline.com is usually reliable, but I haven't got any other sources.

Time to try to see the movie again, maybe... last time I didn't dare to see all of it. :bag:

Wonder whats up with that ABC series? Haven't heard anything about that lately.

I'm excited he's gotten a great part in Rosemary's Baby (I never had the courage to see it either), I guess I will now! lol. Out of curiosity...when did America start making 4 part series like they do in England? Not a bad thing, just new...wouldn't be surprised at all if Jason had a hand in changing American TV for the better! ~ ellen ;-)

Not seen nor read "RB" but my first thought was "for heaven's sake, another evil role?!?"

Don't suppose I'll get to see it anyway. :bawl

I'm surprised many people have not seen the original. Definitely worth a watch, ladies. Mia Farrow is terrific.

I hate scary movies, so could never could bring myself to watch this one; now, however it seems I have a perfectly good reason to watch THIS one (and I've learned how NOT to be scared of movies, especially on the small screen). This will HAVE to be different than the original movie b/c it's a 4 part mini=series, sort of a different way of watching. There has to be more to it than the original movie. What's the difference between a Warlock and a Wizard? Anyone know??? ;-)

I started to watch it once, but was freaked out. I'm going to give it another try once I get back from London.

It depends on where you get your definition; both warlocks and wizards are male. Generally, the difference is between whether the male in question is an evil or good magic user. A warlock would be a male magic-user who uses his powers for dark workings (i.e., evil, which would include summoning demons). Sometimes people also define the difference in skill level, but I suspect that the more common definition would go with the evil vs good. I'm going off of my background in D&D and MERP role-playing (don't judge me!), and the incredibly, itty-bitty, teeney-weeney amount (like so small, it could fit on the head of a pin) of knowledge that I picked up from my pagan/Wiccan friends a very long time ago. Wiccans may have a more complex and different definition. Hogwarts is a wizarding schoool, and in that case, indicates that individuals (male and female) are magic users, so "wizard" can also be used to simply label magic users without gender, but if you remember, in HP, wizards are generally men and witches are women - in that case they don't even acknowledge "warlock" or "sorcerer/sorcerress" or "enchanter/enchatress."

In this case, RB, it's clear that the cult leader would be considered an evil, male magic user, i.e., a warlock.

Ah, perfect LS, I had a sneaky suspician you would have an answer ;-) . So, essentially, a DE sans the mask (wig, elaborate costume and wand). So a cross between Josiah and Lucius? I think Im going to have to see the origional to figure out what this guy does to earn his keep! ~ ellen

Unfortunately I am not a fan of horror either. I've watched plenty of things because Jason was in them, even if it wasn't my genre, but I don't think I'll be able to watch this one. I think it is great that he has another role and will broaden into another genre. I just don't think I'll have the ability to watch it.

The original was entertaining. Hopefully this one will be good as well.
