This is a really long interview. A lot of new info ( for me, at least) http://ew.com/tv/2017/09/29/star-trek-d ... interview/

Apparently, Himself let loose at a NYCC interview. He's definitely one of my heroes!

He doesn't hold back, but why should he?

Re: Trailers, interviews and more.
So the echo of ancient Egypt that I noticed in the first (and only so far) episode that I saw is being discussed amongst the Egyptologists on FB. And an ancient historian has also written about the world view in the series. It's a good article, and I thought that you guys might appreciate it.
I'll have to hold off on my thoughts re the use of ancient Egyptian echoes for the Klingons for when I see the series. Meanwhile, this will have to do.

Thanks, LadyS. That was interesting. Can't wait to read your take on it.

Considering all the "controversy", most of the reviews have been quite good.
Thanks, Helen

I wish that I had more insight to share from my fellow Egyptologists, but they are also mostly trapped on the other side of the paywall! But I'm definitely going to keep it in mind during my eventual binge!
I might start reading the books that are coming out - this way I get some Lorca-love while I wait. lol

He is not in the book that is already out. It’s more a Burnam, Saru and Spock story. But Lorca will be a main character in the next book due early next year. I enjoyed it for a quick read.
