Horrifying series on Dick Cheney in WashPost

Haven't waded through it all yet, but the Washington Post is running a massive two-part series detailing the extent of Dick Cheney's influence in the White House.
I was particularly struck by a photo of Cheney lurking behind Colin Powell: Powell is shown out of focus, with an expression suggesting repressed dismay and loss. Cheney's image is very sharp; he is described as "standing behind the president's [unoccupied] desk", and his satisfied smirk is absolutely frightening.
