Breaking News: Penn. Sen. Arlen Specter to Switch Parties

Post by Helen8 » Tue Apr 28, 2009 11:42 am

Well, this will prevent more stalling from the party with no useful ideas and currently run by a loud mouth and an ex-VP, who was, for 8 years, in a secure, undisclosed location, but now is visible everywhere spewing his trademark fear.

Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter will switch his party affiliation from Republican to Democrat and announced today that he will run in 2010 as a Democrat, according to a statement he released this morning.

Specter's decision would give Democrats a 60 seat filibuster proof majority in the Senate assuming Democrat Al Franken is eventually sworn in as the next senator from Minnesota. (Former senator Norm Coleman is appealing Franken's victory in the state Supreme Court.)

:D

Yay.

:D

Things are looking up.

What this means is that if things get better, we'll clearly know which party arranged it. (Since they can't get much worse. Well, hopefully they can't get much worse. Okay, so desperate for them *not* to get any worse ...)
