U S Supreme Court

Post by grannybear » Fri May 29, 2009 3:34 pm

Well, finally another woman for the Court. I won't be happy until it's 5 women and 4 men. A true representation of the population of the country.
The women will certainly do a better job for this country then the men have done. If you don't agree with me feel free to take some pot shots at me.

No need for potshots--reasoned defense of a contrasting opinion will be sufficient!
But I was listening to a radio discussion this morning which pointed out how increasingly foolish it is that our national default opinion mode is middle-aged, middle- to upper-class heterosexual white male, while all others are considered deviations. Good point . . .

AMEN, M.
And, it really doesn't matter if you're a citizen of the U.S., you'll always have a voice here, my dear friend.

Congrats, SLW! And go you for knowing more about the American government and constitution than many native-born Americans!

--I have to interject here: not all women, and not all topics. But like I said, I think it's high time we stopped viewing one narrow perspective as the only "right" one, and start acknowledging that there can be multiple views on a matter, all valid, and that it's time we heard more of 'em.
