There were literally shrieks of joy in the hall (OK, some of them issued from my lips) when the news came down that Rumsfeld had quit. The chair of the Marketing & Mgmt department & I hugged & jumped up & down.
One of the decision science guys said "OK, now get to work: increase the minimum wage, get health care back on the scene, balance the budget, and get us out of Iraq." Sounds like a good agenda!
It feels like the dawn of a new day. Montana, Missouri...now all we need is Webb in Va!

...maybe by bringing some science back to things like, oh, our response to the question of global warming or health care????One of the decision science guys said "OK, now get to work
Doesn't look good for Allen. Last night somebody affiliated with his campaign suggested he might concede today--apparently, the count of recount we're looking at typically goes very poorly for Republicans, and he'd be regarded more favourably if he can bow out with some gracious speech about sparing the citizens of Virginia blah blah expense of millions blah etc.
But by law, he's got till December, I think, to ask for the recount.
We'll see.
I saw Webb speak, very briefly, and I had the strong impression that he's not crazy about this whole campaign thing--not the best candidate, but he's a very intelligent capable strong man who'll be a great senator.

Yea - sounds like the skull is too thick to have anything penetrate. I understand the VP said it's full speed ahead with the war and they would not chnage anything due to the ellections. Fine - By 2008 not a single Republican will be left in office if that's their attitude......... It's just a damn shame that more soldiers will die due to their pig headed attitude.

Poor old Rummy!
The nuke is to blow some more of those fools out of the way! Politics is so awful, I have sorrowfully taken to concentrating on just writing porn novels and doing pictures of Mr. Gorgeous on my scanner!
