Lucius Battle Outfit Costume Progress

Post by anneke » Thu Feb 28, 2008 2:37 pm

I've been working on my new Lucius Malfoy costume. Which will be he's 5th movie Battle outfit. (I already have all his other outfits made).

I've been doing lots of research (studying of the costume pictures), and figured I would post up some info for others...

I took pictures of the outfit and have worked on figuring out the pattern on the chest:

Here is a clearer picture of the design on the sleaves, and how to sew them on a sewing machine (which I'm attempting to do).

What an extraordinary labour of love, anneke!
I was struck by how Celtic-looking those designs were.

I admire your dedication to detail, Anneke. It bodes remarkably well for the finished product.

I hope you'll share once it's done.

Anneke

Thank you

Thank you for all the support. I love having all the proper details of the costume. If your going to put the effort in to make a costume, one should make it right. The leather I'm using cost nearly $40 a yard. (sigh) But it's so perfect for the costume.

Progress Continues

I finally took pictures of the 'Sleeves' of the outfit. Here they are:

Lots of work and bruised fingers. Darn sewing machine hitting my fingers all the time.

I'm now working on the chest pieces. (Sigh). More bruised fingers... But it's going to look soo good when I'm done.

Man, it already looks great, Anneke! It's tough to keep guidelines showing on black fabric, but you've had great success!

I'm in awe! You are so talented, I ran out of iron on hemming tape the other day and had to tack the hem instead, I couldn't even get that straight. No job in the Harry Potter Wardrobe Department for me I'm afraid.

Did you sew that by hand?
