Oh yes, Hotel IMHO rates as the worst movie Jason has had his name in. And yes, I paid money for it (what a mistake!)
Take a movie by an experimental director (I can understand why everyone wanted to work with him), using new-fangled digital hand-held cameras (made for the movie), no script whatsoever and just let everyone ad lib whatever came into their head (except for the part where they were quoting from The Duchess of Malfi).
A complete existential w**k-fest ensued. Also, add to the mix, some night-vision filming, canibalism (still don't understand why it was included), as well as seeing Rhys Ifans naked (full frontal, people) and you've got a well deserved candidate for the "Golden Turd" award.
I didn't mind The Last Minute. Laughed more at Jason's character Percy and some of the violence and it made sense when watching with the Director's commentary.

I'll be blunt: Hotel sucks. I watched it once and it was a waste of time LOL Probably the worst movie JI's done.
There was a time when I would spend all my money on dvds- but now I won't buy a movie only because JI's in it, unless it's worthy. I won't buy a movie to watch it once and not be interested in seeing it again.
Don't know, I think I'm not obsessed as I was before. Still love that man and want to follow his work, but I have other priorities now.

Oh I have just read it, that did make me laugh, it sounds like an absolute nightmare so I don't think I will bother.Hilary the Touched wrote:My Official Lost Girls Review of Hotel appears here: http://www.jasonisaacsonline.com/page2.html (about half-way down the page).

Here's another crop of this, and I think they have moved the bar. it's from The leaky cauldron as well. It gets big if you click on it.

It looks like Lucius has a black eye (that can't be just a shadow...?).

Well, a graphic artist can use Photoshop to make a shadow effect. Looks like photoshop to me. Or maybe his eye is really black, we'll have to wait for the movie and see.The graphic artist would have messed up this if it should have been a shadow.
Anyways, I haven't read the book but I know Voldemort takes Lucius'wand to use for himself. Poor Lucius!

I can't remember where I saw this posted, but someone mentioned the book Harry Potter Film Wizardry-From the Creative Team Behind the Celebrated Movie Series. There's one page about Lucius where Jason mentions how he came about his costume and cane. I found it at one of the book stores here and I must say it's fabulous and well detailed.
