Yeah, I already noticed the tattoo in a HP7 TV special and I hate it
(almost as much as seeing Lucius being an alcoholic) !!!

What, Lucius got a neck tattoo?? *blinks* Havent noticed it before, I thought he only had the dark mark...the snake on his arm.

It's the number he was given in Azkaban, I guess? Not sure but last number looks like a 7. didn't it end with a 7 in the prisoner picture? Not sure. I don't mind if he's got another tattoo. Doesn't fit to his caracter if it's no prisoner-number but I'd be addicted to Lucius even with 100 tattoos^^

Nah, if Lucius had even more tattoos than these two I would have to invent a tattoo removing spell and cast it on him!

That's impressive continuity!
At least he can hide it under his hair - and the implied reference to Nazi concentration camp tattoos is creepy - but right for the film/text.

The whole deatheater- organisation and their agenda and ideology are very close to the NS- time. The pureblood- stuff is nothing different than what the nazis told about arians and the whole sick stuff.
I also don't think tattoos are attractive BUT nothing is able to disfigure my Luicus

To be honest, I hadn't even noticed the tattoo before you pointed it out. I have to say, I'm happy they didn't put it somewhere too obvious {like the cheek}, and although I don't hate them {I have several myself that are all normally hidden except in the summer *lol*} I don't think they fit the character. I understand its a reference to Azkaban, but I would have thought he'd try to hide that anyway he could.

I have several tattoos too (all of them are small) but have to hide them when I go to work. Just out of curiosity does anyone know the meaning of the dark mark, the snake tattoo? Stupid question but I havent read the books (as you already know). Why death eaters have that mark?
(excuse any grammar or spell errors but I type on my cell phone ugh)

Angel,
The Dark Mark is Lord Voldemorts symbol. I don't think they ever go into detail as to why he chose that particular emblem, but all of the Death Eaters are branded with it upon joining. When the Dark Lord wishes to summon them to his side, all he has to do is touch the mark {I would assume he has one as well although he used Wormtail's in Goblet of Fire} and all of the Death Eaters feel their marks burn and know to go to him.

Thank you Bella, I thought the snake had a specific meaning. I know the snake is a very ancient symbol (you see it mentioned on the bible), like an archetype but am not sure what it represents. I think its the dark side, the material aspect of life, the temptations, the hidden desires.

Incidentally, in the books it's a skull and snake 'brand' (presumably done with a spell), while in the films it's a tattoo.
Hmm. Given that the Ministry is in charge of Azkaban if they're marking (wizard) prisoners I'm not sure that they're any better than Voldemort on the human rights front.
'Discuss' as they say in the exam papers.

It's the Slytherin symbol since Salazar Slytherin was a parselmouth.
Don't know how long it will be up, though.
) Lucius got a neck tattoo...! I think it looks like his Azkaban prisoner number (written in runes). Minor detail, but... wow... LOOK!!!
