Management and the Nasty Guest

Post by marilaine » Sat Jan 17, 2009 3:35 pm

We have had staying with us for God knows how long, this really funky* guest, who collects garbage, won't let anyone clean his room, and is truly a disgusting slob.
He's already nearly trashed one room, and ruined the plumbing, but our Manager/Owner will NOT evict him.
According to the housekeepers who are instructed* to clean up his room, the room is totally disgusting and this man is a total space cadet.
He's known to stand outside, between two palm trees, and either talk to absolutely nobody in particular, or he just stares up into the sky like he's on something.
I'm tempted to report this to someone at the local p.d., but I'm not sure if I should.
Seems, Management doesn't care how he leaves the room, they only care about the money coming in.
This really is unsanitary, and unprofessional. I really wish someone would make an outright complaint....before we lose guest recommendations.

Marilaine, I'd be careful about this one--he sounds like he has clinical problems. That kind of hoarding is not just eccentric--it can indicate a serious issue, and it sounds like, uh, he's got plenty of other stuff going on. Approach with caution!

Yeah Marilaine, honey be careful. Like Hilary says, he might have some psychological issues.
I used to have neighbors that used to fight every single day. And apparently they never went to bed...they used to fight in the middle of the night too.
Urgh, so annoying. The bad thing was that, the wife was actually a nice person....it was the husband.
Oh man....sometimes men just make me wanna be a lesbian.

Marilaine, it doesn't sound like he's done anything illegal, so the PD is not the route to go. Just keep your distance.

The guy might have serious problems. I will give you the same advice as everyone else: be careful.

Don't worry, I'm not going to. Trust me. :cherub
Last overheard Mgmt. is handling it delicately.

He's gone! THEY KICKED HIM OUT LAST WEEKEND.
But, now we have to deal with his peersonal "belongings", if you consider all the useless bottles, and cans belongings.
He left the shades wide open, lights on, and you can see all the mugrero he's been collecting since he "moved in".
Now, Mgmt. wants the housekeepers to clean it up.
Yeah right. I think Mgmt. ought to do clean-up......seeing as they had the houseman washing the big kahuna's truck last Saturday.....when he had other on-the-clock duties he had to take care of. nuke.gif

Well, a good ending . . . of sorts. Can y'all take turns going in there cleaning and run out for air in between?

I'm not stepping one little pinky toe in there,........not without a HazMat suit on.....gloves,.........gas mask.........and the paramedics handy.....
and I don't recommend the others do it either. (Except Mgmt.)

And how likely is that?

THAT is PRECISELY my point. The GM can't even wash his own truck. He had our houseman do it last week, while he was on the clock, and there was all this trash to be picked up, rooms to be stripped, et al.
