Stopping Power gets new lease ...

From Variety ...

Jan De Bont's 'Power' back on track
R Media picks up action film
By CHRISTIAN KOEHL

COLOGNE — The Jan De Bont helmed action pic "Stopping Power" has been resurrected.

Production on the $40 million John Cusack starrer was halted three weeks ago after a key investor dropped out.

Now the pic's German producer Internationalmedia has announced it is teaming up with strategic investor R Media Acquisitions LLC and that the project is up and running again.

R Media is taking over IM Stopping Power, the company responsible for the project, and will assume all liabilities in connection with the pic's production.

R Media will appoint a new management for IM Stopping Power and withdraw its application for insolvency.

As part of a wider restructuring, Internationalmedia plans to sell its sales company IM Global, which it set up earlier this year. IM Global will continue to act as sales agent for all future Internationalmedia productions.

Capitol Films will become the sales agent for Internationalmedia's existing library, which contains some 70 titles.

I wonder what will happen now that Jason's filming Le Escorial?

Distance ain't got nothin' to do with it. Timin' does. Case in point:

Brotherhood: Providence . . . Good: Budapest

If they are filming at the same time, Jason can hop around.

Except the facial hair may not work too well for Stopping Power.

They can do hairpieces for the goatee . . . but yeah, it sounded like JI was going to have essentially lead roles in both, and that'll be hard to accommodate.
Hm.

Will be interesting to C if Mr Jason can do both roles, maybe
stopp power will take some time, with all the legal stuff

I would like him to do both, such diversity in each role

He could always use the facial hair for both roles

I could be happy about the visibility of this role in contrast with the more unusual nature of the Escorial project (and confess I am grateful in having my laziness in not removing this topic be vindicated :???: )

According to this article, not only has the film found new investors, they even INCREASE the budget by another $10 millions. :D
