Thanks for that, Kim. This movie sounds like it's going to be very thoughtful and interesting, and I'm glad to hear it has the support of the troops who are participating.
I was a little startled to see that the HMMWVs being used with their doors off. That would seem to sort of negate the whole point of a HMMWV!
(At about 2:45 and 3:05 into the clip, you can see soldiers in the back of a truck. It's a "deuce and a half", and I used to ride in one of them! Their design apparently dates from WWII and hasn't altered much since then. I was in a really small unit, and we didn't have people with discreet jobs like driver--everybody had to kind of double up. [I was trained to operate a 10K generator, for example] My squad leader drove our truck--she's about 5'1", and had to sit on a stack of manuals to see over the steering wheel!!)

Gils, U R most welcome...
I am ashamed to say, I also never heard of this green zone...
looking like an interesting movie...although, someone made the
comment over on the IMDB thread, that the book contained all
interviews...we'll see how it turns out...
I still don't fancy Matt Damon, sorry...LOL

How interesting--I wonder why they need to be "North American". The stereotypical "American" look is . . .
Anglo Saxon, like, English.
I also read that they had filmed stuff in Spain, using Norwegian students and tourists to achieve the effect!
What portion of the story features Americans in uniform in London??
I'm not following along very well tonight . . .
