"Remembering Paul Newman!!"

Post by catloveyes » Sat Sep 27, 2008 10:06 am

This dear man who has done so much for so many passed away today of cancer at the age of 83.....I have longed admired and respected him as a man of great character a wonderful husband and father, an actor we all new would always give his all in any performance, an avid race car fan and of his great love of mankind. His life emulates the importance of giving and sharing what we have with those who are less fortunate...."The Hole In The Wall Gang" being just one of many.

I wish your family peace and love!!

Bless your heart for your exemplary life!! :hug

With Great Respect,
Kate

A few weeks ago, I kinda knew that something was up. DH had purchased a bag of Newman's Own Pretzels and noticed that the bag had the "American Gothic" pose of him and his daughter Nell, with the subtitle "The Second Generation." Figured he was passing on the reins. I saw his last interview on Good Morning America. He certainly looked frail, but his feisty self had shown through. Henry Gondorff and Butch Cassidy will always be my favorite characters of his. A great loss.

Thank you for your kind and respectful post, Kate--Paul Newman was a class act, and he'll be missed in many spheres.

Didn't he supply the voice over for "Doc" in the Pixar animated film, 'CARS'?
He was one of the greatest actors. Good bye, and thank you, Mr. Newman.

I loved Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. It's one of my favs. I remember having such a big crush on Paul back then.

Such sad news. One of the greats is gone, and we are the poorer for it.

He'll be missed. I always enjoyed his movies.

He was the only actor with blue eyes better than Jasons. (and that's going some)

I loved Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
Me too Gillian!!!

I admire him both for his acting talent and his heart. He used his good fortune to help others and I must say he has done a fabulous job with his grocery store products - and their profits going to his charity.

Bravo Paul and we will miss you!

A truly classy gentleman, no ego whatsoever. I saw him in "Cool Hand Luke" when I was 15 and have loved him ever since.
