Thank you all for your birthday greetings, I am just waiting for my friend to come round, she is bringing champagne :D I only hope she can fight her way through the snow which is even worse today. She may be sleeping on my sofa tonight.

Happy Birthday Heather and enjoy the champagne. It's one of the finer things in life. Almost as good as another birthday.

OMG! Sorry for myself alert! I have known my friend Bev for a very long time, unfortunately I am the ugly friend, she is half Italian and absolutely stunning! but there was a time [recently] when I was the beautiful friend but over the last two years I have gained over 30lbs and in mid 40's this is not a good thing. SO! I refuse to get down about this. in she comes tonight with her teeny tiny arse in her teeny tiny jeans and she has not depressed me but inspired me thats me on strict diet and exercise programme from tomorrow, wish me luck all.

Inspiration--that's the ticket!
Don't get too caught up in wanting to be like somebody else though--be what's right for you, yeah? :hug

The only thing harder than stopping smoking is losing weight. Good luck!
It's hard to lose weight in your 40's but it's possible.
