Snow Anyone?

Post by grannybear » Fri Jul 09, 2010 9:14 am

WOW! All you members that live in the Northeast USA you've really had a rough year.

First all that snow and now unbelievable heat. At least down south everything is air conditioned.

Sorry.......

they took a poll on the Philly news last week, if you preferred 3 feet of
snow or temps over 100...LOL....

Personally I say bring on the heat ( I have air conditioning...LOL)

too old to shovel that blasted snow

We should be having the 100-degree temps here in So. Cal. Instead, it's been overcast (mild showers occasionally) and in the high 60s, low 70s. Go figure. :scratch

In Germany it's the hottest summer in 40 years or so. Think they said it on Tv. And in Germany absolutely NOBODY has got an air conditioner in the house. Maybe we should all go live in our cars :D (Mine hasnt got an air conditioner either :D )

I've been watching the weather reports and for us down here it's been in the mid 90's instead of the low 90"s.
But for everyone living up north it's really been unbelievable. And no relief in sight.
I was also surprised to read this is not just a USA problem. I see it's happening all over and even more intense is other parts of the world.
Seems like global warming is catching up to us. Maybe it's time we took our heads out of the sand and try to do something.

I volunteered at our local zoo yesterday. It was over 100 with the heat index and when I got home and peeled off my clothes they were soaked (along with my hair!) And the worst month is yet to arrive - August is always a bitch when it comes to heat and humidity........

Even DH looked sad and said - I don't know how we will make it through August.

We'll make it thru August if we stay in our air-conditioned homes. And then we'll start screaming because we're stuck inside.

Weekend before last, it was in the high 70s in San Diego. We went up to Palm Springs, where it was 112 degrees, 10% humidity. What a difference a 90-minute drive makes!

Hope the temperatures back east start to drop for you guys.

This is one of the hottest Summers here in Chicago....we have never seen such a long stretch of hot weather. I feel so sorry for people who have no air conditioning....so dangerous.

It does seem like global warming is creating such extremes in our weather.....I am quite concerned about what our Winter will be. Until then I will take the heat and be grateful as ice and snow are not fun.

I agree grannybear, we will be complaining about being confined and you are so right concerning global warming.

I was up in Churchill Canada a few years back to see the Polar Bears.
Everyone was moaning that here it was the end of October and no snow.
They just hadn't put a name to it yet. Global Warming.
Just think, this may cause these magnificent creatures to become extinct. How sad.

We are a deeply selfish and short-sighted species.
