This is a TV series about a police officer after a fatal car crash killed either his son or his wife. He lives in two realities. One where his son survived the accident, and one where his wife survived. He doesn't know which is the real one, and he doesn't want to know. It aired on NBC, and was cancelled after one season.

Kyle Killen and Jason Isaac’s fantastic REM has been renamed Awake. Sources say that NBC is almost guaranteed to pick up Smash, Prime Suspect, and Awake.

Why would they rename it if they aren't picking it up?

Well I think it is positive. I like Awake better than REM for a title. REM sounds a little too SciFi for the plot.

Awake is a better name. Try explaining R.E.M. to other people. Besides R.E.M. is a pain to type out.

Awake is definitely better but still will be difficult to google it.....if you know what I mean.

I hope it doesn't turn out like Lone Star where the critics loved it and everyone else hated it.
I watched the 2 episodes and while I wasn't wild about it I was surprised it was cancelled so fast.

I agree that the name change is good. REM? Do you type the periods? If you google it you get the group REM and the tons of stuff about rapied eye movement. "Awake" is much better.
