A Relative Stranger

A Relative Stranger (1995) (TV)

Character: Peter Fraiman

Plotline: Twenty year-old student Peter Fraiman falls asleep in 1975 a happy man, having asked his girlfriend to marry him. But when he wakes up it's 1995 he has a wife he doesn't recognise and two children. Unable to remember anything of the intervening twenty years, he feels he has jumped forwards in time. He goes in search of his former girlfriend and is forced to face the fact that he has become a person he never expected to be.

Has anyone seen this movie? And will you send me a copy?

Hi there,
was Jason also in the cast? Sorry, I don't know this movie, but I'm looking for all them... Have you got replies?
Have you other movies which were only shown on TV?

kind regards, Snape

Snape, Jason Isaacs played the lead, Peter Fraiman. He has a lot of screen time.
I've only seen it on a many-times-copied VHS videotape, of crappy quality...Gillian recently posted (on the main forum) a list of several projects Jason Isaacs did for the BBC which NOBODY seems to have ever heard of.
Relative Stranger (in which Ioan Gruffudd played JI's son) is worth looking for--it was pretty good. More and more of this kind of thing is showing up on DVD (I just bought the Bob Hoskins mini-series Pennies From Heaven on DVD from Amazon), so we may get lucky.

Write-in campaign, anyone??

Nope, A Relative Stranger aired in 1995.
Amusingly, JI plays Ioan Gruffudd's FATHER, despite the fact that the actors were born 10 years apart!

Ahhhh! Yes, I see now. Sorry, I forgot I had been talking about Pennies!!
No, no Jason Isaacs there--but the fact that it's darned old was my point! If we can get that on DVD, maybe there is hope for some of those other projects?

I know how you feel. After I got the Dangerous Lady DVD, I stayed up until 2 a.m. watching all four eps one night, because I just couldn't stop. Jason does some truly astonishing acting in that series. :adore

Hei Gillian,
no I waited about 4 weeks... but sincerly I didn't expected it, so I was very astonished and happy. But I met him in London, and there I got already an autograph, but not on a picture... He is really very handsome.

Well, now I would like to have one of marvelous Jason :-)

But returning to a relative stranger, does really NOBODY have this serie on DVD or VHS???? No chance to get a copy of?????

Yours, Snape
