Thanks for the translated article, Char. Love the pic indeed! Very nice.
I love how goggle translate gives a literal translation and it doens't always work out 100%. A good read anyway.
Hooroo,
Carole

The second word that falls Jason Isaacs in when conversation turned to Lucius, is magtbegærlig.

I understand Danish, and can try to translate if anyone's interested. Some things get a bit lost in the translation there. Thanks, Char.

Thunder - I think I sussed you live in Norway. I used to live in Norway for a long time and used to speak fluent Norwegian, although I fear I'm pretty rusty now. I don't know if you're Norwegian, but if you want to go over the translation with someone, I'll be happy to. I had a look at it and actually started translating but didn't get too far due to time constraints. I find the Danish easier than Swedish in relation to Norwegian.

Re: Jason in Copenhagen
Yes, written Danish and Norwegian are very similar to each other, since written Norwegian is developed from written Danish. So it's very easy to read Danish if you know Norwegian. But Danes pronounce the words very different from Norwegians (the syllables sort of melts together when they talk), so I think it's easier to understand spoken Swedish than spoken Danish. It would be great if you could help me go over the interview, Laurielove. My problem isn't to understand the Danish, but to find the proper English terms for the translation. I'll PM you the "first draft" when I'm done
Where did you live when you were in Norway?

Re: Jason in Copenhagen
This is the interview that the article is based on, so maybe I don't need to translate now?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFIAeK2MYDg
The questions are:
What did you think of the film?
What made you take the role of Lucius Malfoy?
How was it to play a character that develops so much?
How was it to act with Ralph Fiennes?
What other Potter character would you have liked to play?
Was it fun to play Lucius?
What's your favorite scene with Lucius?
If there's another Potter-movie, would you come back to do it?
Have you read the books?
What scene has moved you the most?
Is it sad to say good-bye?
It's quite long and not too much editing top shorten his answers, so I really liked this one

Re: Jason in Copenhagen
That was such a meaty interview. Wish they had filmed it in HD.
Thanks so much thunder. Someone needs to redo it with translated questions. Hint..hint.

Re: Jason in Copenhagen
The differences between the Scandinavian languages are fascinating. Yes, I find spoken Swedish easier - the Danes sound as if they are going to be sick whenever they speak! (I remember my Danish friend telling me that phrase (although this is the Norsk) - Rød grøt med fløte - it just sounded like she was ... yeah ... bleugh ... it was amusing)thunder wrote:Yes, written Danish and Norwegian are very similar to each other, since written Norwegian is developed from written Danish. But reading that Danish was quite straightforward. I was surprised. My written grammar (ie spellings of verb endings etc) was never great - I could speak fluently but I learnt entirely through interaction with others - I never had any lessons.
I'll PM you with more info.
As you say, not sure it needs translation now, but it's quite fun and keeps my hand in on the languages front!!

Double post... sorry.

Here it is with translated questions and I tried to improve the picture quality as well (not sure how well that went). I uploaded it on my back-up channel that I haven't used for anything so far in case kino.dk finds it get mad at me... And it's "unlisted" so it won't show up on searches or related videos, but by all means just share the link anywhere you want
