Re: Premiere?

Great, at last the Beeb has something on their site for series 2!
I kept looking, but there was nothing there till now.

Next month, it says, and May is only 3 days away...

Kate Atkinson book prize nomination

This is not really Case Histories, but she is the author of the books... Kate is on the shortlist of 6 nominations for the Women's Prize for Fiction 2013, for her latest novel Life After Life. :hands The winner will be presented with a cheque for £30,000 and a limited edition bronze statue known as ...

Re: New Tweet from Himself

I don't Tweet, but I am so glad that Awake has won something. :hands

Even though it ended, it finished in a good way, I think. We can all interpret the last episode in our own way.

Hilary, please accept my sympathies for your loss. :hug

Please don't worry about us, you have far more important issues in your life just now. I haven't been a member here long, but have "known" you for longer, and your hard work is much appreciated.

Re: BBC trailers (with some CH series 2)

Or, or, or, . . . writing a book is very different from writing scripts for television. So, instead of seeing, in her mind's eye, the entire story (book), told at her speed in her tone, she has to write (TV scripts) a specific way, keeping in mind the flow of action (requisite highs and lows to kee...

Re: BBC trailers (with some CH series 2)

Kate Atkinson, the author of Case Histories, was on TV yesterday talking about her new book (not a Jackson Brodie novel - Kate writes other stuff too). She mentioned Case Histories would be on TV this year, but with no dates. Kate said only one of the Jackson stories in CH2 is based on a book of her...

Re: What would you like to see Jason in?

I too have heard Jason say he doesn't want to do Shakespeare. But maybe he would agree for a film if he liked the director and his co-stars? I have a recording of a wonderful film of The Merchant of Venice, and the actors include some I would never have expected to see in Shakespeare. Anyway, it's a...

Re: What would you like to see Jason in?

I haven't read every post, so forgive me if this has already been suggested - I'd love to see Jason play Iago from Othello, either on stage or in a film. When I saw Othello in Edinburgh, the Iago was wonderfully done and he out-acted Othello off the stage, but I kept imagining Jason in the part. It ...

Richard Briers (Mr Smee) dies

I'm not sure how well known he is outside the UK, but actor Richard Briers died today. He was with Jason in Peter Pan, where he played Mr Smee. He was 79. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v155/servalan/Peter_Pan_caps/PP_021.jpg In the UK, he was best known for The Good Life, a sitcom, and was also ...

Re: BBC Scotland trailer (with some CH series 2)

I saw a brief glipse of Jason as Jackson on some sort of BBC trailer the other day, but I think it was a general forthcoming programmes trailer rather than a specific one for CH. The BBC CH website has nothing as yet for the new series. That link you posted leads to a completely different programme ...

Thanks for the report and photos. You all looked so happy to be having your photo taken with Jason, and I see everyone was wearing their glad rags. :hug

I recognised three people - Char, Kate and Marie. I don't know the others.

Re: An article about Scars, and Jason's thoughts on the film

For those who have not seen Scars - I might be able to make you a DVD from a hard disk recording I have of Scars. Scars is totally unlike anything Jason has ever done before. He's played villains, but none of them were real. This guy is real , and is one of the scariest individuals I have ever seen....

It was also Daniel who asked Sam Mendes to direct Skyfall, and then he had to clear it with the Broccolis.

Re: "I want to be a Bond baddie."

While I was watching Skyfall, I kept thinking what a wonderful role a Bond villain would be for Jason - and it seems he agrees!

Last time he appeared with Daniel Craig they were lovers, weren't they?

Start practising stroking the white cat, Jason...

Re: Movember - Jason Isaacs/Facial Hair

I just noticed this thread, and it seems like a nice coincidence because a lot of British men (famous and not famous) are growing facial hair for November in support of specifically male cancer awareness, to encourage men (who are notorious for ignoring warning signs) to make sure they check themsel...
