Re: Passionada

Assembling in New Bedford for the premiere was my first Lost Girls pilgrimage, and it was amazing despite his absence! (There aren't actually very many hotels in NB, and we ended up staying in the same one as Seymour Cassell... I also remember seeing Gov. Michael Dukakis at the afterparty, which was...

Boo! Let me try it without the URL code, and you can try copy-and-pasting it. The link works for me; if it persists in noncompliance, I'm gonna guess it's a transnational access issue.

Re: Liverpool Fans.

Anniemouse, someone's probably pointed this out already, but JI played the lead, Tony Kay, in a documentary-adjacent BBC production about Kay's conviction for match-fixing as a member of Everton FC, The Fix . The whole thing's available on YouTube, starting at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTM5twd...

Servalan, are user icons not hosted here, by the forum?
I haven't done any technical stuff here for YEARS, not since turning that burden over to Thunder, but I thought that was the case?

Re: Skeletons on BBC2

Skeletons is one of my faves. I love its quirkiness, which, unusually, seems completely organic and not at all twee and affected, and the deadpan performances of the leads. JI was perfect!

Re: Passionada

Can't recall if it's mentioned here--or if anyone's interested!--but the actor JI replaced was David O'Hara. I haven't paid that much attention to his career, but he's been impressive in plenty of stuff... I think he would have been wildly miscast in this, though. (So I wonder if the wig was origina...

Re: The Dolls

I don't remember what the accumulated total was--something north of $2,000, I think, over several years? (Char also compiled and had printed calendars for several years, and those raised quite a bit of money as well--some went to the Great Ormond Street Hospital, some to St. Jude Children's Hospital...

Anniemouse, I think I know the childhood images of JI that you mentioned, and I think he posted them himself on his Instagram or Twitter accounts. Have a scroll through and see if you can find them! (IG: https://www.instagram.com/therealjasonisaacs/; Twitter: @jasonsfolly)

Re: Letter to my younger self (The Big Issue)

Anniemouse, a belated welcome--I'm an 'oldie' who hasn't been consistent in visiting in a long while, and I've really enjoyed reading your thoughtful posts. Glad to read you did get your physical copy of The Big Issue (as you observed, it's a great cause, and there's just something about having the ...

Re: Dragonheart

Anniemouse, I'd quibble with Helen's description of Event Horizon --I found it very scary indeed, and it is pretty graphically gory too. I'd agree that it holds up remarkably well; it has the first "folded paper" demonstration of how a singularity (?) works for spacecraft navigation, and the special...
