On the plus side, the film does come alive whenever Isaacs (who also produces) and Mortensen share the screen, while reminders of the evils of the Holocaust and the repercussions of indifference and/or apathy are never amiss.

This is from the review of Good printed in my morning newspaper The Yorkshire Post
It is given tremendous dramatic weight by the casting of Mortensen and Jason Isaacs (as Maurice), two actors of equal stature who take the plot down divergent paths while always heading for the same destination.
Good is cloaked in guilt, and it's a guilt we should all feel. Mortensen brings it to vivid life, but it's Isaacs who bears the brunt of inaction, inertia and ignorance.

A new review from the the Cambridge Student online--not unalloyed enthusiasm, but some thoughtful observations:
"The film ultimately lacks any depth or, indeed, direction, and rides chiefly on the unquenchable popularity of the subject matter itself and solid performances from Mortensen and Jason Isaacs, who imbues his supporting role with a fractious vulnerability rather than the stoicism one expects from a typical portrayal of a victim of the regime."

Yeah, Viggo's got enough irons in his fires that he could work nonstop from now until the turn of the next century without ever setting foot in another movie studio.
--Although his decision might be influenced by the struggles for funding and support that this poor movie endured, if in fact he does quit films . . .
