A bargain indeed! BluRay players are ridiculously expensive here, I'll need to save some money to get one.

I got it a couple of years ago at Wal-Mart. It's not fancy. All it does is play the disc but it's got all the essentials. Zoom, captions, FF, Rev, pause. It's only 8"x10".

I thought I'd only use it for awhile until I got something better but it suits my needs so I guess I'll keep using it.

The problem with writing in English is that I am not always sure that I write exactly what I mean to write. The direct translation is one thing, but then there are cultural connotations to words and expressions, and that can be a bit tricky sometimes...

Congratulations on the Blu-Ray player bargain, grannybear. I payed a lot more for my Blu-Ray player, but I think it was worth it. I wish Blu-Ray films was cheaper, though. In Norway, it's sometimes almost the double price of a reglular DVD.

The same thing here where I live. Most of Blu Rays are expensive because they're imported from the States.

We have some game-playing station (sorry, don't remember which one and can't be arsed to go look) which also, mysteriously to me, plays blu-ray disks, but I think it only does region 1.

Thunder...It's not a Blue-Ray. It's an old fashioned DVD player. Brand=Magnavox.

A year ago I saw a Blue-Ray in BB for a bit over $125. Like my DVD player it did only the basics. I kick myself for not getting it. Don't know if they still have them. Haven't been back since I junked my old computer and bought a Mac.

Hmm... I wonder how I made it to be Blu-Ray... I should read the posts more properly. It's still a bargain :D

I've heard that the cheaper dvd players are sometimes region-free anyway as the technology that makes them region specific is more expensive. Grannybear, have you tried to play a region 2 dvd in it?

I really don't know if I've tried a region 2. A friend in New Zealand sent me 2 DVD's that she said would play in the U.S. but the first one jammed in the player and I didn't try the other so I really don't know.

:D Guess what was in my mailbox today?

About the special features: Jason's got the longest interview! He doesn't really say anything that we haven't heard before, but it's a good interview. (about 8 minutes all together).

I made some screencaps from the interview, and here is one of them:

I think the film is very good, and should have gotten a lot more attention. But it's probably hard to follow for people who doesn't know much about this period of time or can't read between the lines... It's one of the best films Jason has been in, I think.
