OK now........We've read the books. Listened to the audio. Now when do we hear about the filming?

(I've always been impatient)

Maybe that was why it was hard to follow? I thought maybe it was me...

listened to it again this morning, and each time that I do, I get more out
of the story...much be Jason's acting talent :D

thunder, the first time I read Case Histories, I also had trouble following
the plots. When I reached the second novel, the writing style was much easier to comprehend....so, it wasn't you ;-)

I read both Case Histories and One Good Turn, and really enjoyed them both. I think the only issue I had with comprehension was the 'twist' at the end of Turn.
Very enjoyable--like grannybear, can't wait for the series!

Just finished reading When Will There Be Good News. I think this was the best
one so far. Or maybe I'm just more used to her style of writing.

Now it's going to be interesting to see how they convert the books to film.
What parts do the keep and what is dropped.
Also who will be playing the other roles? There has been no word on that except for the children.

I'ts got to that time of the year when the BBC are showing small clips of all their coming attractions for the New Year, everytime they come on I am glued to the TV. I will let you know if anything is mentioned.

Last night I stayed up until 2 reading Case Histories, finished it this morning (I am on the evening shift at work).

Wow, she can tell a story. I am very much looking forward to this series. The only quibble, from a "Lost Girls'" perspective, is that there could be more Jackson. Having said that, I found the whole thing very enjoyable.

I have One Good Turn at hand for when the slow part of the evening begins.

I finally started reading Case Histories last night and am enjoying it greatly. Of course, I'm hearing Jason's voice when reading it LOL.

A friend returned Case Histories to me today. It turns out that she had already read it, but she enjoyed it more this time. (She'd read other Kate Atkinson books and this was very different.)

She said, 'The only problem, fruitbat, is that since you told me about the series, I read it with Jason Isaac's face in front of me all the time."

Didn't see the problem there, to be frank. Image

There was a tiny little note in this week's Radio Times - (related to an article on 'TV book adaptations' rather than on 'TV detectives - which was where I expected to find it!) about Case Histories:

CASE HISTORIES BBC1
Jason Isaacs takes the role of Kate Atkinson's crumpled sleuth Jackson Brodie in what's hoped to be the first in a series of adaptations. There's no news yet of when it will be shown.

Nice to know it's slated for BBC1 and not 2 or 4.

I wonder whether Jason knows about the possibility of a series? If REM gets picked up too he could be rather busy!

He can film more Kate Atkinson books while on hiatus from REM. No problem. (but what about SAFE)?
