Best wishes for the success of these projects, to Jason and to us.

I read about the REM project on IMDb earlier today. Unfortunately, after I clicked on the link, I felt the urgent need to scrub my computer. I hope the news and the projects are legit.

Thanks for keeping the torch lit for Jason, all. :yip

Fruitbat, Jason had a project that he was writing, hoping to direct and star in...

Assuming "SAFE" is that project!!

I know Jason is almost superman but how could he do 2 series at the same time unless Safe is a movie? ALso could they be thinking of filming more of Kate Atkinson's books? Feast or famine.

I think SAFE is on an earlier stage of development. So he won't have to do them both at once, but that may just be me understanding it wrong. I hope they both will be made into series.

And I had an impression that he was going to write, direct and act in a "one-episode-thing" for BBC, but that can have been SAFE, for all I know. :???:

Being a Jason fan, it has always been 'feast or famine"....with more famine than feasting...LOL

only time will tell....we've seen many projects lined up, and then fall thru

There's a bit more on 'Safe' here: http://www.deadline.com/2011/02/jason-i ... pilot-rem/

It's described as a 'drama project' (so could be a one-off play or a short series, or almost anything, really...) written by Chris Gerolmo and designed to go out on FX cable (so something else I'm unlikely to see).

He did (jokingly?) say something about being involved in the next round of the BBC daytime drama showcase 'Moving On', which goes into production later this year - but given the US demand on his services that's about as likely as [insert iceskating demons here].

On a purely selfish note - I wish he'd just stay in the b****y UK! I like to know he's more often than not on the same land mass as me. American series mean more not than often.

I know what you mean.......... It seems eventually all the talented English Actors end up in the US. I am just pleased that he has remained in work. :D

If this is supposed to take place in Georgia does that mean he has to use a southern accent? Great! One more accent to add to his collection.
All kidding aside. I hope this goes through OK and not like PG last year. I'm so looking forward to articles and interviews. That's half the fun.
And since Athens is a university town and close to Atlanta and not too far from the Smokey Mountains that opens the door to lots of interesting plots.

Jason Isaacs ("Brotherhood") has booked the lead role on the drama pilot, about Mark Britten, a police detective living in two different realities following a horrible car accident: one in which his son Rex lives, another in which his wife Hannah lives. He'll play said cop ("40ish, handsome, but a weight to his stare") in the 20th Century Fox Television-based hour, which David Slade is directing from a script by Kyle Killen. Isaacs will also receive a producing credit while Howard Gordon is executive producing alongside Killen. In addition, Tim Minear ("Terriers") has been tapped as a consulting producer.

Mark Britten? Sounds almost like Mark Brydon... Like the description of the character too :D

The plot sounds pretty interesting, I love this type of stories about alternate realities. This pilot has a great chance to become a series.
