A SINGLE SHOT
I read about this in a Google Alert...unfortunately, I think I deleted it after reading!!!
A new film has begun production, and Jasons name was mentioned as having a role in the film...Currently filming in Vancouver...maybe thats why we are
seeing major scruff on Jason these days!!!....
Can someone please post the link to the article? Thanks

Well, that answers my question from Wilmer's Twitter post on the Awake Forum.

Oh dear - I hope Jason's character is not a "backwater criminal" - if he is - I guess he will get to do a new accent!

Re: A SINGLE SHOT
IMDb is updated. Has anyone read the book? Who's Waylon?
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005042/
Edit: Don't know if this is "the right synopsis" / script review, but this says Waylon is the girl's boyfriend Cradle snatcher...?
Spoilers!

BTW, if this is what it will be like, there will be violence...

Re: A SINGLE SHOT
Wow Thunder you found much more than I did - I found a short book synopsis and came to the same conclusion - Waylon is the dead girl's boyfriend who apparently is a nasty piece of work.
A Single Shot depicts the seven-day ordeal of a backwoods poacher who accidentally shoots a runaway girl. Set in an unnamed, seedy, mountain town, the novel opens as reclusive John Moon, whose wife and young son have recently left, hunts a buck into a canyon in the state preserve adjacent to his trailer home (which sits on farmland repossessed from his family by the bank some years before). There he fires a shot into a thicket, killing not the buck but teenage Ingrid Banes, who is hiding out with a cache of $100,000. In a panic, Moon stashes the body and takes the cash, hoping to facilitate a reconciliation with his wife, only to find it's the property of Banes's sadistic boyfriend, Waylon, and his psychopathic partner, "the Hen," who's linked to an unsolved local torture/murder case. Moon's hardscrabble world then begins to implode: Banes's body resurfaces, and resurfaces; overwhelmed with guilt, Moon decides to give her a proper burial, as Waylon and the Hen close in.

Thank you Kim for finding this. And Thunder for the links and Marie for the synopsis.
Nasty is putting it mildly...the heavy again.

Re: A SINGLE SHOT
Well, he has played a couple of really, heavy duty good guys (Jackson, Abduction, Britten) lately, maybe he just needs to be the bad guy (and a particularly juicy bad guy it seems) in order to do a good ...errr... cleansing of the ol' actor system. But he does play bad so deliciously- you know he'll be an excellent back-woods, criminal heavy.

Re: A SINGLE SHOT
I finished the book last night.
Spoilers: Highlight the text only if you want to know
Waylon only has ONE speaking scene! He was also bad to the bones. There is no redemption in this character. Jason always finds good things in his characters and he will have a hard time here! Waylon is pretty disgusting. Like thunder said, it would be like a cathartics for him to be so bad again. I am disappointed that his role was small though.A lot of sex/nudity but none with his character, just a mention that sex with him was out of this world

Re: A SINGLE SHOT
Well, Char, let's hope the writers gave him more to work with . . . although Jason can say a lot with his eyes and expressions.

Re: A SINGLE SHOT
Someone met him during a break and posted about it on IMDb:

I wonder if he plays the good guy...
I wouldn't like to meet him in a dark alley.
