Cinema premiere in Switzerland and The UK + VOD release

Post by thunder » Thu Mar 05, 2015 6:32 am

I got a message from Dschoint Ventschr on Twitter:
https://twitter.com/DschointVentsch/sta ... 7795881984
DAWN will be in Swiss Cinemas starting march 2015. A worldwide #VoD release is to be expected mid 2015.
The wait is almost over! :D

It will have a premiere in the UK too:

Probably not a very wide release... but it's something.

I didn't know about the Kent connection to the film - that explains the location of the premiere. I can't imagine many films get a UK premiere in Canterbury!

Great that it's being shown at last. I hope it makes it to an art house cinema near me.

Well, it 's not exactly Leicester Square...
If it doesn't get a wider release, it will be a world wide VOD release later. That's my best hope, I think.

Has the premiere of Dawn in Canterbury been reported anywhere in the media? Was hoping Jason would have been there...

I saw someone asking JI on Twitter if the rumors are true that he will be there. But JI hasn't answered (yet).

I checked around. Haven't seen any reports from this.

Saw that it premieres by the end of April in Switzerland. (can't find the link again. :bang )

A worldwide VOD release of Dawn means that people from any country can demand it?

Great! :hands
Thanks much!
No need for a new UIPOD (United Involuntary Pirates Of Dawn) then!

Nice article about Dawn premiere, interview with Romed Wyder and Billy MacKinnon:

http://www.letemps.ch/Page/Uuid/548be17 ... _sa_racine

It's in French (sorry...)

They talk about JI:

R.W.: Du coup, Jason Isaacs, qui joue l’otage, n’a ainsi jamais rencontré les autres acteurs!

– Vous saviez qu’il est lui-même juif?

R. W.: Bien sûr, et c’est sans doute la raison pour laquelle le projet l’a intéressé. Billy le connaissait, mais je doute que sans ça un acteur si demandé et établi aux Etats-Unis aurait accepté. Juif ou pas, il incarne à merveille cet officier anglais.

For those of us without French, like me:

R.W.: Suddenly, Jason Issacs, who plays the hostage, thus never met the other players!

—You knew that he himself is Jewish?

R.W.: Of course, and it is probably the reason why the project interested. Billy knew him, but I doubt that without it if asked an established actor in the United States would have agreed. Jewish or not, he perfectly embodies this English officer.

Thanks, Tosca, for excerpt about Jason.
