Re: More Audio-books read by Jason
Now that I'm getting a appreciation of audio books, (and audio books read by Jason, in particular, ) I've been scouting for more. I saw this abridged set for £16.99.
I've never read an abridged novel, much less listened to one. Does it really make a difference?
I ask because I would like to put it on my my Christmas list and don't want to ask for the more expensive option. If the full versions are best, I'll order them all for myself.

I think the other audio books was abridged as well. I got a bit lost on Case Histories (had to go back to sort it out), but the others were quite easy to follow, I think. I can't compare with the books, because I haven't read them. Maybe someone else has?

Re: More Audio-books read by Jason
I have read them and listened to the abridged ones (I have the set of three, and then purchased the 4th one separately). My stepfather actually suggested the books to me a long time ago, so I started with those first. I think that the differences are subtle, and to be totally honest, I haven't quite put my finger on what was left out in the audio. I suppose I could do something uber-tedious like listen and read at the same time to compare, but I like to think that I actually have a life, so I probably won't ever do that. ;^) But... I've enjoyed both. Of course, the perk with the audio is that some chocolate-y voiced man is reading in your ear (and you can hear him, rather than the ranting crazy man behind you on the bus).

I listened to Big Sky this summer on Audible. It was great going back to Jackson Brodie again.
