I had some time on my hands so I googled "what does AARP stand for?". All I could find were links that said it stood for "American Association of Retired Persons" or that it used to stand for that. Nothing about what it means now. Even their own website offers no information.Hilary the Touched wrote:By an odd coincidence, AARP ("formerly the American Association of Retired Persons"--I dunno WHAT it stands for now) sponsors "Movies for Grownups," which is about what it sounds like, and they had a free screening on my birthday! The movie? The Infiltrator!....
Isn't that what a seal says" Aarp, aarp!"Helen8 wrote:I'm a member. (No snickering.) It's not that they changed what the letters stand for, it's just that they are now only known by the initials. Must be because it's a mouthful.
