Everything I Ever Wanted to Tell My Daughter About Men (theatre event)

Post by thunder » Sat Dec 07, 2019 4:17 pm

It looks like its a one-off theatre event in London on Febuary 20, 2020.
On 20 February, the Playhouse will subsequently host Everything I Ever Wanted to Tell My Daughter About Men, a new black comedy by actor and writer Lorien Haynes, directed by Tara Fitzgerald (Brassed Off, Game of Thrones), which traces a woman’s relationship history backwards, exploring the impact of sexual assault, addiction and teen pregnancy on her adult relationships. Presented in association with RISE and The Circle, all profits from this event will go towards supporting survivors of sexual violence.
(...)
Cast for Everything I Ever Wanted to Tell My Daughter About Men will include Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter, The OA), Lorien Haynes (Egerton) Jonathan Firth (Victoria and Albert, Far From the Madding Crowd), Joe Sims (Britannia, Broadchurch) and Charlie Field (Poldark). Nobel-Prize nominee and founder of Rise, Amanda Nguyen, will introduce the evening.

It's half term, but I've already made plans. Don't think it will go down well with some people if I change them. Thanks so much for offering the spare ticket here, Vin. :D

Half term is the only reason I can make it!
Unfortunately a dear friend is having a rough time and can't come.
I will be sure to review his performance thoroughly. (Sorry, I can't resist an innuendo-laden remark, unfortunately he encourages it by laughing) 🤣

Great interview. He has no illusions about his role as father. The girls certainly ground him.

Thanks, thunder.

I found the home page. It looks like they've made it into a movie as well, or several short movies.... We can watch the trailer there.

Hi ladies,

Play was fabulous both funny and very moving. It was nice to hear Jason in his native Scouse, I am rather fond of it as a native northerner. He played the philandering husband. He is in the film but plays a different role to the one on stage.
I managed to grab a quick chat, though he did have to dash off as he was heading to Belfast at three am. My party and I made the most of a free bar and remained until the 'bugger off home' lights were turned on.
I managed to chat with the very wonderful and inspirational writer and she is very keen to do another performance, so fingers crossed there may be another opportunity to see it live.

Thanks, Vin, looks like a great night. :D Sad I couldn't come, maybe next time...
Was he going to film something in Belfast (The Dead Spit of Kelly, maybe)?

He's filming a sketch for Sport Relief. I think he's a bit disappointed to be playing the straight man 🤣🤣🤣
