I found the website of Tim Monaghan who worked as an advisor on the film, showing them how to "camp in the wild".
He writes about the experience, and there are a few short clips of Jason and Gillian Anderson putting up a tent:

As a former Girl Scout (who attended a G.S. summer camp for 6 years), I'm really loking forward to The Salt Path. I feel like, everything I learned about life, I learned at Girl Scouts and camp.

Can't wait to see this.

The Sala Path is part of a UK show case during the Cannes Film Festival. I don't think it's going to premiere there, but will be offered to buyers.(?) Let me know how you understand it, I'm not sure I got it right.

Now in its seventh year, the 2024 Great 8 showcase is funded and produced by the BFI and the British Council, with support from the Great Britain & Northern Ireland campaign, BBC Film and Film4.

In preparation for Cannes, unseen footage from all of the titles will be introduced by their filmmakers and screened online exclusively to buyers and festival programmers on May 9 and made available across five different time zones. All of the features will be available to buyers during the market.

It sounds like a sales and marketing event.
