HP promotional interviews, etc.

Post by a.p.k. » Tue Nov 09, 2010 4:01 pm

According to feltbeats.com (and no wisecracks about why someone my age is reading a fangirl site for someone who is, well, half my age LOL) Mr. I will be on iTV in the morning (with Emma Watson, I think it said) on Thursday, November 11th.

Anyone ready to record for those of us TV-less (not to mention out-of-the-country) folks?

Oops. I forget sometimes that my meshugas (loosely translated: idiosyncrasies) might not translate.

Am not comfortable calling someone I don't know by his first name. Even in an anonymous discussion board. Even in an obsessive fangirly squeeing discussion board.

This is despite the fact that I've immigrated to a country where everyone calls everyone ... and I do mean everyone, up to and including the prime minister ... by their first name. Then again, maybe that's why; too much informality seems to breed contempt.

Then again, maybe it just helps me keep the obsession at a distance. Wouldn't want the name coming out at an inopportune time. Or my husband wouldn't anyway. LOL

I hate being called Ms Ellington, I always look to see if my mum has just walked in.

In my country, we always call people by their first name. There are no formalities, I mean, it depends on the situation, but we are friendly by nature. LOL.

I don't like it when someone calls me Mrs. "X".

Haha, I guess there's no country in the world with stiffer formalities than Germany. Where you use 'you' as a pronoun even for people not familiar we have an own word.
That's why I love English. It's much more outright and sincere.

during the video where Jason is leaving the BBC studios, someone calls him
Mr Isaacs and he states "that's my Dad", or something to that effect...

Jason is awesome. I think he doesn't like formalities. He's very open to people who want to talk to him.

Yeah, I hear all that. But here ... well, my kids call their teachers by their first names. That took getting used to (for me, not for them LOL).

I can see just from interviews, etc., that Mr. I is exceedingly informal. Which is lovely. And I've no doubt he is exceedingly gracious with anyone who wants to talk with him ... and call him by his first name.

Am actually not one of those who wants to talk with him. Am one of those who likes to keep her distance. Am into the appreciating-from-afar thing, not the making-a-fool-of-oneself-from-up-close thing.

Since I'm old enough to be his mother I feel I can call him Jason.
